They run on cutting taxes. They only care about deficits when the Dems are in power, despite the deficits being primarily driven by the reckless "Spend and Cut" policies of the Pubs that came before.

To be fair, they are also very clear that they are enabling us to feel very angry at....whatever it is that angers us.

Oh, and we no longer have to make an effort to be informed in order to have a strong opinion. Anything we don't like or believe is fake.

Yeah… that’s part of what I mean, the Republican tax cuts are not based at all in fiscal responsibility… its no different than Bernie running on free college and free healthcare without offering up a way to pay for it.

Both sides need to start by reducing spending. For 2024 the government will have approx 4.4 trillion in revenue. They will spend 6.2 trillion. Either collect more or reduce spending and the easier place to start, in my opinion, is with spending.

Unless Elon wants to donate his fortune to the Federal government and even then it will only be a drop in the bucket he will do nothing to "unbankrupt" the country. In fact by lowering taxes for Musk, himself and his billionaire donors Trump would increase the debt and deficit like it's never been increased before (not including periods of war).

Top 5% of earners pay 60% of the tax revenue collected. You want them to pay 90%?

Meanwhile the top 10% own about 70% of America's wealth.

You are right. It’s actually 66%.
    www.usafacts.org
    Taxfoundation.org

In 2021, the top 5% of earners — people with incomes $252,840 and above — collectively paid over $1.4 trillion in income taxes, or about 66% of the national total. If you include the top 10% — everyone who made at least $169,800 — that figure rises to $1.7 trillion, or 76% of the total.

Oh right, you think federal income is the only tax we pay. It's not. It accounts for about a third of all tax revenues in the US

Tax revenue from individual taxes is actually about 50% of the revenue collected. SS and Medicare are another 30%. The rest is Corp taxes and much smaller misc taxes.

This analysis didn't come from Democrats.

But since when have you cared about facts or reality.

No, it's around a third of all the taxes we pay.
