I’m not voting for either and I did take time to listen to the whole thing. Some of the questions she did not answer the question asked. For example, when asked why weren’t the measures that are now bringing down border crossings taken three years ago, she launched into Trump putting the quietus on the border bill. However, the measures that Biden has taken to reduce crossings now could’ve been taken three years ago without the border bill. This chart shows border crossings by month. It’s interesting that while the crossings increased dramatically in early 2019, they also started coming down dramatically in 2019 before Covid hit. It’s clear that the crossings overall under Biden/Harris have been much greater than under Trump. I thought the best thing from her standpoint was her description of a Trump rally, and her closing statement. Although, I’m a little confused when she says “it’s time to turn the page.” Turn the page on what we have now, which is Biden/Harris? I have the same confusion when she says on the campaign trail we need to chart a new way forward. Forward from Biden Harris?
That isn't true. She correctly said one of the first bills they put together was a border bill, but it didn't get anywhere in congress. In fact, he did it on day one. Regarding the things Biden did after the 2024 bill got tanked, EOs should not be the way things are done. With a functioning congress, bills should be passed, and laws should be signed. EOs, at least like the border EOs, are a measure of last resort. None the less, how the Pubs have the nerve to run on the border after killing a bipartisan deal that would have helped is beyond me. It's almost like.....lots and lots of border crossers did not do so during the covid years, so they did so later.......causing the post-covid numbers to be higher.
