Nah, not in the sense that you mean. I’m just interested in hearing what the official excuse is for blatantly changing the rules for athletes when the letter of the law is that they have to follow the same (academic) rules as regular students. I suppose that could be the next step of NIL, not having to make them go through the motions of going to class, take tests, etc, like UK one-and-dones in the spring … but as far as I know, we aren’t there yet.

 

Probably because their coach will get hired away if he keeps winning.

 

Why transfer credits when players are going to transfer again to yet another school?

 

^^^This. NIL is just a minor issue. A university could set aside $1B a year for NIL and it still won't give that much of an advantage to a football program. We've seen it already with starters leaving a program because they aren't winning or their playing time isn't perfect (ETN is one such player). The portal is the bigger problem that needs to be fixed or else you will soon see entire teams opting out the season. Make no mistake, we will soon see where the majority of a team's roster enters the portal because expectations weren't met. Won't be long when the majority of a team's freshmen opt out of the season to preserve their RS.

Bad business, that is. And, it's not clear how his brother's NFL status has much to do with him transferring? Are you saying he won't have last name recognition in the state of Florida if his brother gets cut or traded out of JAX?

 

You can't convince me that he didn't to to UGA for more money. As for his brother's employment status, that was sarcastic due to Tank Bigsby outplaying him on the field this season and will most likely take his job at this rate.

 

Of course he was offered more money. That's all that matters to these professional amateurs now. But, his brother's NFL status is not related.
