Oklahoma Public Education Grifting $5M of Trump Bibles

"For those who support bibles in schools, like me."

    You didn't type that?

That said, yes, you did say you didn't support them buying Trump bibles, so it is ok, as long as they get a good deal on the bible.

All of it's myth in my opinion. The part about Jesus being son of God and rising from the dead? Very much a myth as far as I'm concerned. Literally no different to me than Odin, Thor, and the like.

Let's not forget about the 600 yr old Noah getting 2 of every animal in the world into one boat he built himself. Then everything and everyone else was killed because god was angry with man. Baby puppies. Unborn children in mothers bellies. All killed by god.

    Seems like a nice guy.

So based on this story, we are all descendants of from around 5 people (Noah, his wife, and his son's three wives). But somehow we have massive diversity in the gene pool. Hmmmm???

I support Bibles in schools, like I support Avengers lunch boxes. Freedom. Rights. For teachers and students. I dont think the government should pay for this. You literally cant find me on record ever supporting that.

In fact any honest observation of my history tells you otherwise.

Well since you have that opinion ,I guess billions of people should just change their world view.

    Nah, we're good.

There is all sort of diversity in thought about what was written as literal and what was written as allegory. I'll let you do the research. But one might want to note under what traditions the first 5 books of the Hebrew scriptures were written under. Regardless of which side one falls though, metaphor about redemption is vivid in that story.

But i wont waste my time here. Mock away.

It does nothing but make you look small.

Then we seem to be in agreement on the issue, as I said I don't care if kids bring their own bible. It certainly wasn't clear from your "I support bibles in school" comment.

To go further, I don't care if kids pray in school and I don't care if kids organize prayer groups. I believe that the "freedom of religion" also gives kids the rights to practice their religion in schools.

However, you might want to recognize what this thread, and the other Ok Bible thread is about.

It is about the Governor of Ok, 1) saying each classroom will have a bible in it, and teachers will teach from it, and 2) they are going to buy the bibles and are specing them such that only Trump bibles will meet the spec.

What am I not recognizing, lol? I KEEP saying I am against it. I dont want some non Christian teacher forced to teach my kids something so important anyway.

Your view on what should be allowed is 100% in line with mine, and I have been consistent for years on this board about that.

So you are saying the Bible is not the word of God? That major stories told in the Bible are just fables, intended to guide people? Wow... sounds like blasphemy to me.

No. I didnt say any of that. No one believes that the bible does not contain any allegory or metaphor , no one educated in the historical context of scripture anyway.

Ancient Hebrew (OT/first 5 books in particular) contains allegory and communicated through poetry and allegory to making stories memorable.

Greek (NT) would generally be more historical and literal from a language standpoint. Even in the NT Jesus spoke in aprrabl

And if we are being literal, Jesus claimed HE was "the WORD" . The Bible itself only claims to be" INSPIRED by God". Humans/some in the Church have used legalism to misread and interpret it for manipulation purposes (imho).

I'm not the one pushing to have billions of people change their world view. That would be Christians, who have long tried to convert the rest of the world to Christianity. Believe what you want to believe, just don't push it on me and others.

    "Push" :rolleyes:

It''s so funny when people accuse others of "pushing" an agenda some on the left lose their minds.

They just need to stop. Some have an issue with people of faith. Period. Some folks fear/hate what they don't understand.

People are no more "pushing" their faith on you than a pride parade pushes me to become gay.

Neither push anything on the other.

    It's nonsense

You seem to take things so personal.

Maybe you don't push your religion, but that has been the Christian way for centuries.

And the OK government is sure as he'll pushing it.

So just stop with the "it is nonsense" nonsense.

Trump's bibles are being produced in China because of course they are. $3 wholesale cost, $60 to buy.

Tell me again who is owned by the Chicoms as one of our posters loves to say...

Yes he does. And it's funny he says they aren't pushing their faith on others given the topic of this thread.

This post is nonsense. Of course Christians are pushing their religion on others. It's part of being a Christian. You're supposed to 'save' all us heathens from ourselves by converting us to Christianity so we can go to heaven and live forever and ever.
