Tampa is leaving Tuesday ahead of the storm. Going to New Orleans. Any word if the Gators will also leave early? More importantly, Prayers sent to you ahead of Milton. This looks like another bad one. Please do whatever you have to do to stay safe.

Did The Saints play elsewhere after Katrina? Seems like its that level of damage about to happen in Tampa.

Hopefully the wind-shear will break this storm up a bit before landfall.

The Saints played a bunch of games in San Antonio, and LSU, before the Superdome was ready again. Fingers crossed the storm doesn't do as much damage as feared.

Windy.com uses the European model which has been highly accurate in the last few years. Storm has shifted between Sarasota and Tampa for a likely landfall point. While the “scientists” believe wind shear will reduce Milton to a 3, that is not a certainty. And a 143 mph 3 is not much better than a 145 mph 4.

it’s blossomed to 185 mph extremely rapidly, much faster than expected. Will predictions of a degradation become a reality?

Prayers to all on the west coast of the peninsula as well as central and east coast residents/business who definitely will be impacted as the storm crosses the state.

That’s because all the people the Silverdome so kindly opened their doors to totally trashed the place. Disgusting

The Superdome became and big homeless shelter. New Orleans sat below sea level and the dam was breached flooding the city. Where the stadium is in Tampa should not be near as bad. Places on the water that take the storm surge and the hardest hit. That is my amatuer prediction.

Interesting that you were compelled to place scientists in quotes. Do you like to complain about the weather folks being wrong?

I know, right? What with all the 5* accommodations, the lobster dinners, the crawfish etouffee, mimosas at breakfast, the private restrooms with rain shower heads, and the abundance of infant supplies. Don't forget the wonderfully comfortable climate control. How could the victims behave so poorly?

They played a whole season in San Antonio, but that is because the Superdome site in the ground like a bowl and filled with water.

The Lightning left early too and Amalie Arena seems a bit of a concern for them. RayJay should be fine I would think.

It flooded and had significant roof damage though too. I believe that mold was an issue as well. There was talk about It being so badly damaged the team would relocate permanently.

Personally I'd be appreciative of anyone trying to help me with accommodations, but not everyone was raised to leave things better than when they arrived. Some were raised to expect 5* lobster dinners and be a victim, like this kind poster.

Weathermen, ie “scientists”, make educated guesses. Most of the time they are reasonably accurate but more and more times we are seeing the accuracy fall short. Sorta like forecasters who predicted UCF would run all over UF last week.

This is a storm that’s been predicted almost spot on in its track for days now, as most modern hurricanes are.

There is so much coverage of these storms and so much is presented to the public, I am sure a lot of people forget that all that is created from raw data and atmospheric measures that they wouldn’t have any idea what to do with. It’s pretty easy to see a hurricane cone on a screen and pretend the experts don’t know what they are doing if the forecast is 30 miles off or whatever, but the reality is a lot of data and expertise goes in to even putting out viable predictions at all.

I believe they played in San Antonio for a few home games.
