Imagine donating a million dollars to a cause for which you have no obligation to donate and the response you get is "not impressed."

Her net worth is estimated as between $440 million and $650 million. $1 million is roughly 0.15385% of the higher end and .22727% of the lower end. Here's what that would look like based on more common net worths:

$65,000: $100-$150 donation
$500,000: $770-$1140 donation
$1,000,000: $1540-$2270 donation
$5,000,000: $7700-$11360 donation

Not sure how anybody could look at it (even without the math) as anything other than extremely generous. I would imagine anybody that is more giving than the ranges described above is likely not wasting any time judging how giving others are.

Not only that. Most high net-worth individuals have a lot of it tied up in assets. $1M is extremely generous, and on par with how she is. This might the stupidest thing I’ve read here. And that’s saying something considering the ridiculous shit I read here every day.

 

Thew 1 million was from her personal account. She also donated more money through her businesses. When she announced that she was donating the 1 million she stated that it was from her person bank account.

It is no one’s business to question how much or how little anyone donates to a charity, particularly when time is critical and they have no personal benefit in doing so. Nevertheless the fact that she had already sought partners to leverage the benefit to the victims.
