That is consuming a bit more than I was expecting. Do you have a streaming device on it? I need to check to see how much my firestick and a TV uses. But that is pretty awesome that it worked fine for your needs.

I didn't have a streaming device. I used the built-in YouTube app to get to YouTube TV and used my phone's Hotspot for the data connection.

    If I remember right, it's a 50".

Ah, yeah the TV I tested was a smaller older dumb TV. Not sure if the smart part makes a difference or not. Hope things are getting squared away at your home front.

Dems need to come back to congress, and force Mike Johnson to bring a vote on funding.

This little weasel is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

In one post he claims the Federal response has been "a massive failure."

    https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...federal-response-to-helene-a-massive-failure/

While at the same time saying he isn't going to bring back the congress to vote on additional funding because "it will take time to get an assessment".

The little creep is just doing Trump's bidding once again. Supporting Trump's lies about the response, and trying to thwart the governments response so that Don the Con can try and run on the issue.

As I said before, Trump and MAGA's lies are sickening.

Ian Miles Cheong is a far right commenter on Twitter who lives in Malaysia. In the past he has praised Hitler. He might not be fair and balanced and may not really understood the situation half a world away.

Who is Ian Miles-Cheong? Meet Twitter’s favourite right-wing commentator - Times of India
Western and Malaysian online communities expressed outrage over Cheong’s divisive and controversial content on X. Affiliated with Rebel News, a right-leaning, pro-Israeli Canadian news organization, Cheong has never visited the United States or Canada, despite being deeply involved in American and European political discourse. His high-profile followers include Elon Musk, yet he conspicuously avoids commenting on Malaysian politics, even as he appears on major US media platforms like Fox News.

I'm not sure what Monk thought he was doing when he posted this one. He has been on a "the fed response sucks" kick, so I suspect he thought this was a good hit piece.

To me, the video isn't a hit piece but a pretty decent overview of the challenges, an absolute disaster with a massive logistics nightmare. I didn't see the speaker really say anything about is the response good, bad, etc. Just more laying out the enormous scale of the problem.

True. It is easy to pick from social media whatever comment suits your point but context is important and is not possible by cherry-picking.

In mountainous areas, rivers, mainstreet, and main highways often occupy the same narrow valley and when the rivers leave their banks and the highway is gone those residents in more remote and steeper areas are going to be hard and slow to reach. Its more difficult than in flatter terrain as in FL.

I did not think it was a hit piece. I thought it was exactly as you described.

    Dude is pathetic.

And don't be surprised when he starts talking about how the feds aren't helping enough.

The current generation of Pubs just needs to grow the heck up. So much testosterone and so little oxytocin.

Why is she calling DeSantis? Seriously, why? Is Harris getting more FEMA funds for some of the people of Florida, GA, NC, SC and TN?

Because the federal executive branch coordinates with states on emergency management and how the funds are best spent. Why did Obama met with Christie after Sandy? Because cooperation at this time is more important than DeSantis childish antics.

You mean like when Biden and DeSantis talked? Yes, that is an appropriate call. Why is the VP calling? This is a job the President does. Is Biden not capable? Does she run FEMA?

I don't think DeSantis big timing Harris is a big deal. She is the VP and these calls are usually with the Pres (and mostly meaningless).

Him not taking her call would be practically an expected (but not a very egregious in today's climate) and minor break from protocal.

You guys crack me up … for the last 3 months it’s been “Biden has dementia and Harris is running the country”….now it’s “Harris does nothing and has no influence in this admin.”… pick a lane.

The truth is obviously somewhere inbetween the two extremes you guys like to waffle back and forth from. Biden ultimately calls the shot but Harris is the #2, has influence, and gets delegated responsibilities.
