Now that the irritating, whiny little sister has been sent to her room . . . we turn our attention back to the Big Boy League and UcheaT.
Before we turn the page completely, it's worth mentioning how good it was to see Coach Napier finally finding his inner Muschamp . . . Florida football fans react to Billy Napier’s emotion vs. UCF Knights
What’s TN injury situation? I tuned in late and the announcers, I think, said they are without top receiver. That’s why their offense wasn’t clicking.
Top WR was out ams several others out or limited. If we can pressure Iamaleava and limit YAC, we might have a chance at an upset with some big plays and turnovers. My prediction is they will play like coked up steroid freaks with something to prove, whereas we will be hoping to execute, block and tackle like football players.
The pigs gave us the playbook. Put pressure on Ima gonna leave ya and he doesn't perform well at all. Can we do it?
I work for a security company in Knoxville, and have personally watched plenty of UT football practices. Unless we get a descent and consistent pass rush against UT's qb, we will be toast. Unlike ucf's qb, this guy can throw. UT's stadium will be rocking for this game and it's a must win for them having lost to arky. We had better be prepared, blitz packages, and totally up for this game or we will get boat raced.
This is a very strange football season so far. One thing is for certain, anything can happen. Everyone is vulnerable. Bama vs Ga, then Vandy vs Bama, then Arky vs Tenn, and Cal just barely missed out on knocking off Miami. Cal? Geeze. If our defense can swarm some more, we definitely have a shot. We need to keep our foot on the gas, big time. Go Gators
I think how the Gators play UcheaT will depend on three things: playcalling, a lot more DJ, and a similar defensive scheme as with the Central Florida Knots. Playcalling: more passing down the field (less screens please Zook). In the first half against the Knots, we passed @55%. In the second half, we passed only 34.7%. Literally, BN tightened the reins on our offense. The OC played to control the clock, and made the Knots look better in the fourth quarter. There needs to be less predictability and more creative playcalling! Can we spread the field and use our speed? More DJ Lagway: "Scared money don't make money." If BN follows his own Mantra, DJ will play more than 14 snaps. The Gators run better when DJ is in, and he pushes the ball down the field! If we play same ol', same ol', we don't leave Knoxville with a W. Therefore, play the game to win, rather than playing not to lose. Finally, if BN doesn't make the trip, the Gators stand a chance! Scared money don't make money!!!
We could be 40 point underdogs and lose by 3 points and Gator fans would complain and want to fire Napier.
Coach Napier has a chance to recapture Gator hearts and minds Saturday. While the 3 wins against Samford, MS State, and UCF were great, Coach needs to demonstrate the ability to defeat high ranking power 4 teams, especially on the road. UT, on Saturday presents that opportunity.
