You take the risk of leaving points on the field if there's even a botched snap or a sack, let alone a pick or fumble w/ the possibility of giving them points on a return. We are not in a position to.be forgoing easy points this season. With 7 seconds and no more TO's.....Take the easy points.

This. If VT kicked a FG instead of having their trick play blown up, they would have won with a FG rather than a Hail Mary pass that somehow got overturned by the officials. It is plain that Gus hasn't found his offense today. The FG makes it a four score game. Too many fans thirst for blood and RUTS because we haven't seen it against a legitimate opponent in a long time, but I think it was the smart move. Safe is NOT scared.
