Those aren’t the only options. Someone can believe that self-defense was justified while at the same time not seeing him as any kind of hero that should be celebrated.

Here’s something to consider. If the first person KR shot had succeeded in taking away the gun after chasing him for blocks, and turned it on KR and shot him dead, what would be your reaction to KR then? Would you still despise him? Would you now despise the other guy?

Kyle never crossed a state line with his gun.

Kyle was trying to prevent trouble

LOL I'm quite sure the prosecutors participated in Kyle's jury selection. I'm still laughing at you guys trying to put down a legit court decision while backing the decision of a kangaroo court.

How did he and the gun get from his residence in Illinois to Kenosha, Wisconsin if he didn't cross a state line with the gun? I guess the alternative are that he presumably had the weapon transported separately or that he acquired it after traveling to Kenosha (the only other way he and rifle could have ended up together in Wisconsin), please provide a link indicating how he ended up with rifle in Wisconsin if he didn't a cross a state line with it.

I get it. It's a kangaroo court because you say it is. It doesn't matter that Trump's personal lawyer was prosecuted and served time for comparable crimes. Life-long con-man Trump should NEVER be held accountable for his actions.

I'm not suggesting the only options, I'm explaining that people rightfully despise the kid. People are free to believe he acted in self-defense, but they shouldn't imo be surprised that people are angry about the deaths he caused.
To your questions, my reaction would be that KR was a dumba$$ for bringing a war weapon to an emotionally-charged protest. I wouldn't despise him in that case, because he wouldn't have shot and killed others. I'd be conflicted about the other guy because he wasn't dumb enough to bring a war weapon, but he would have been cruel enough to take it and use it on KR.

But guess what? That didn't happen. The dumb kid brought a gun he shouldn't even own (imo), crossed state lines, and ended up shooting and killing people.

The gun was never in Illinois. A friend in Wisconsin bought it for him, because Rittenhouse was still 17 at the time, and held on to it for him.

You forgot to say peaceful protest, come on get with the crowd, call the George Floyd protest a peaceful protest.

My point is if the thugs that attacked Rittenhouse were there peacefully none of this would have happened.

Which court? The one that found him to have sexually assaulted a woman, the one that found him guilty of multiple counts of fraud or the one that found him to be a liar x 2? We're no longer laughing at you, we're wondering what has malfunctioned in your life and praying it doesn't happen to any of us.

I was incorrect although it appears that he still may have been in violation of Wisconsin law. Under Wisconsin law, a person under age 18 is generally prohibited from possessing or going armed with a firearm, also subject to certain exceptions. The exceptions include target practice and instruction under adult supervision and hunting presumably also under adult supervision.

It was. He (Dominick Black) was charged with two felonies for it, then took a plea deal that let him off with a noncriminal violation and a fine.

Gun was bought and stored in Wisconsin

Gun was of a type that was legal for Kyle to carry. I forget if he or a friend bought. Everything was completely legal as were the shots he fired to defend himself
Hunting laws allowed Kyle Rittenhouse to carry weapon, lawyers say

Tell that to all the congressmen and women making just over $150k and banking millions. Tell that to the president's crack head son who makes millions off drawings that look like they were drawn by a 3rd grader. The list goes on and on.

Not an expert on Wisconsin law although I wouldn't take the words of lawyers representing him as objective analysis. Maybe it's just me but I think the chance of using the rifle to kill a deer on the streets of Kenosha are pretty slim.
Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger responded that if the defense wants to tell a jury that Rittenhouse was only hunting, it should do so. “They can submit evidence that the defendant had a certificate to hunt and he was engaged in legal hunting on the streets of Kenosha that night,” Binger said, according to the newspaper.

There is a lot of ground between despised and hated and celebrated.
He was attacked and threatened and put in a life or death situation. A gun was pointed at him and a he was threatened with a skateboard swung at his head. He killed in self defense. As I said earlier and you either don’t see it or ignored it.. I don’t like KR. I don’t celebrate KR. But he defended himself legally as shown in a court of law. This isn’t Zimmerman. This wasn’t a cold blooded murder. This was an idiot who was attacked and chased by a mob and reacted in self defense.

Just look at some of the replys on this thread …
One poster doesn’t care what the law says or what the court says.. Rittenhouse is guilty because he thinks he is guilty..
Another is willing to accept the ruling against trump becauae.. that was against trump.. but a ruling he doesn’t like that went well for Rittenhouse…well that can be called into question
This has nothing to do with his minor at best celebrity status, nothing to do with his stupid book. This is pire liberal butthurt that the judge and jury don’t do what they(posters) wanted them to do.

I wouldn’t despise him. I’d view him as a cautionary tale. Don’t take your AR-15 across state lines when you’re trying to cosplay as a vigilante if you are trying to avoid violence.

I specifically said I think it wasn’t murder. And possibly not even manslaughter. But I do not think anyone traveling in their car across state lines with an AR-15 and inserting themselves into a riot can then claim “self defense” when shit goes south. Gimme a break.

He intentionally put himself in harm’s way. At a minimum it’s criminal negligence.
