Well then there this little tidbit.

Since 2020 UGA has been held under 20 points scoring 4 times:
1 was vs Clemson: 10-3 uga won

The other 3 times was UK.
2020 14-3 UGA won
2022 16-6. UGA won
2024 13-12 UGA won

and UGA was the best team in the land and Double digit favorites everytime. Sometimes there's just a team that always give you hell.

 

And interesting enough, even during our long winning streak against the Cats, they frequently played us very tough. 1991 comes to mind, as they damn near deprived us of our first official SEC Championship at Florida Field. I was there and it was scary close near the end

 

I sadly look at this question two ways. First, who can make us respectable - not a joke. I think Kiffin, O’Brien, stoops all would do this quickly.

While that first question seems important today, we all know that gator fans are not going to be happy with 8-9 wins seasons 4 to 5 years from now. A coach’s ceiling will be important. Kiffin seems to have a higher ceiling (11 wins at ole miss) versus stoops 76-57 record at uk. O’Brien’s best season to date was 8 wins at penn state. 4-1 record this year may be fools gold. Also, he was raised in Boston and his whole family is there. Worth talking to but question if he would be interested and his ceiling is a huge concern.

I'm not advocating for O'Brien, but his work at PSU was way more impressive than the record would indicate without any context. That was a program reeling from one of the greatest scandals in American sports history. They lost a ton of scholarships in the sanctions and the entire program was demonized and demoralized. And he responded by having the best first year record of any PSU coach to date and being named Big 10 and national coach of the year.

 

The context is profound. Probably the only situation worse than what Billy took on. Timing is everything sometimes

 

Unless we throw the bank at him, with a lot of guaranteed money, Stoops would be a fool to leave UK and 6M/year. Especially when you consider half the fan base will be crying the minute you hire him.

 

Say no to Stoops and Kiffin. Stoops probably doesn’t have a high enough ceiling and as stated earlier, 8 or 9 wins sounds great now, but our fan base will never be satisfied with that a few years from now. And we shouldn’t.

As for Kiffin, once a douche…..
I was almost ready to buy into the idea that he’s finally grown out of it - until this crap about faking injuries came up. I would rather have another losing season than have that kind of douche bag behavior associated with the University of Florida
