I'm glad to see you can admit the border is a disaster created by the Harris administration. Can't believe you are being at least partially truthful for once. I know, I won't get used to it. It's like Walz misspeaking on being in China and being a knucklehead.

So if the border is a disaster caused by Biden why was Trump the first to allocate FEMA funds for the border in 2019? You've argued against yourself twice now. Good stuff.

You have to admit that it's funny to see you reference "the Harris Administration" in the same post as "being at least partially truthful."

Do you ever try to adhere to at least the smallest modicum of honesty and integrity?

You have to understand, time in MAGA-world functions like in a magical realism book. It is thematic, not linear.

If only House republicans could succeed on their promise to shut down the government. That might help.

I’m no fan of the Biden administration and think Harris is an absolutely worthless twit but …. didn’t the federal government just end fiscal 2024 on 9/30/24 and start a new fiscal year on 10/1/24? Seems to me if FEMA overspent their budget in F2024, then that deficit has already been funded via an increased federal debt. I would think FEMA funds for Helene relief would be covered under the continuing resolution under which the federal government is currently operating.

The question is why? How much fed money and other funds going for the millions of illegal aliens crossing the boarder? How much resources is being drained in cities and states for the deluge of illegal aliens crossing the border. How many small towns and cities in southern red states won't get the help they need to discourage them from voting in 4 weeks. How is it a week later and still thousands of Americans remain without clean water, food, or medicines? Why isn't an all out effort being done other than the limited help? Why do I feel the current leaders remain more concerned about boarder crossers than our own people.

You have no comment on Trump tying disaster relief to how particular counties voted?

Just pretend that that didn't happen?

It was a major natural disaster. We don’t have a magic wand to fix it. It’s gonna take some time. As for thinking our elected officials care more concerned about immigrants than citizens in red states, I’d suggest turning off the Fox News. This disaster and response to it has nothing to do with Ukraine or the border.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the remainder of hurricane season, yet $640 million has been allotted to DHS specifically for issues related to illegal immigrants.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting. We do not have the funds — FEMA does not have the funds — to make it through the season,” Mayorkas revealed.
This is problematic, as hurricane season does not end until November 30. According to Fox News’s Chad Pergram, “Congress made sure FEMA had more than $20 billion in last week’s emergency spending bill ahead of the storm, but last year, Congress awarded DHS $640 million to help communities provide shelter and aid to people in the country illegally.”

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is among those who have sounded the alarm, contending that officials laundered the money for their illegal immigrant pet projects.
“This is not something that has just happened recently,” she said, explaining that “Florida’s been warning about this since this administration took over.”

It's no secret lots of rural communities in Ga, Nc, Sc went for Trump in the last election and will likely vote for him again. It's these areas who have been hit hard by the hurricane. The race in these states are o so tight, that I would not put it past our govt to slow roll help to these communities to keep them from voting. Time will tell.

Maybe because you believe right-wing mistruths about benefits illegal immigrants receive?

Plus; you really haven't figured all this out yet? Illegal immigration isn't really a partisan political issue - it's just Donald Trump lying about it to scare-monger for votes. Our business leaders collectively prefer things this way......or else our politicians would have acted on it. Who do you think is paying them?

Our business leaders prefer the ease of an unregulated work force; less OSHA, workers comp, unemployment benefits, other regulations. Notice that we hear none of them saying that we need to take drastic measures to ensure that the labor pool for agriculture, food processing, construction, etc, is.....more well regulated.

What's weird is that there is literal evidence of Trump at least wanting to do this.....but no evidence of it actually happening right now.....and you are only concerned about the hypothetical which is not actually happening.

Arguments are more persuasive when grounded in reality, sir.
