I saw the highlights - it was bizarre. The guy says "You're fact checking me" as if that's a problem.

In what world does anyone who wants to serve in public office say that without a hint of irony?

Amazing, not one word from the lefties about this lie ..... after all of the others by the cowardly lion.

"It appears Walz did not actually travel to the region until August 1989, according to local newspaper clippings obtained by ABC News. The pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, which led to a deadly government crackdown by the Chinese government, lasted from April 15 to June 4 that year -- ending about two months ahead of Walz's travel to the country."

Walz, after coming under fire for military record, backtracks on China visit (msn.com)

Neither candy got scorched. The debate was not dominated by either. Both acquitted themselves quite competently.

Trump and sKamala will win/lose on their respective own, regardless of their respective vps.

Last night stands as nothing more nor less, than the hope of a return to civility in politics...in the future.

(Could just as easily be a flash in the pan, a mere, fleeting exception to the prevailing tenor of the day).

(ie--we're here to watch the roosters fight it out, not the gamblers mucking with one, to give their'n an unfair, unnatural advantage).

Agreed. Walz had a couple of notable slip-ups with him saying he was friends with school shooters and the complete botching of the question asked about his travel and whereabouts in China, but Vance also struggled mightily on the January 6th question and got hammered by Walz when he asked him flat out if Trump lost the 2020 election. Both had their moments, but Walz really killed it with his answers on IVF, Healthcare and Childcare. Both sides will say they won, but to me this was an honest, good debate with no real winners but the American people. Way better than the presidential debate.

Actually, it was "...since you're fact checking me, get your damn facts straight..."

JD proceeded to correct....and the *mods* proceeded to meekishly STFU.

...and kept their packers out of the out of the foray for the remainder of the night.

I’ll also say Vance did much better than I thought he would, so kudos to him for showing up after how poorly he’s done on the trail struggling to related to regular people. I feel like being Trump’s VP pick has him all tied up in knots and tonight was the real JD Vance we saw.

Definitely. I remember how Obama acted just like Trump does now.

So did HRC and Biden, in fact.

    Not.

Just another Trumppublican indulging in their Trump-given right to an alternate reality.

“Would you like to specifically respond to” the comment about being a knucklehead?

So no we’re allergic to facts and should just allow the candidates to flat out lie without repercussions? Because that’s what you’re saying, lol. Only in MAGA land do people get triggered by fact checking. The moderators called out Walz and specifically asked him about his time in Tiananmen Square that he completely botched that was basically another fact checking asked in the form of a question, but you don’t see us on the left crying about it. Completely fair question he should have been more prepared to answer.

He did that all night. Clearly looking for Morse code on the monitor off screen! *Note I’m joking and making fun f the MAGAs who were convinced Harris cheated via secret earpiece during the presidential debate*

This is pretty much what I saw.. An articulate liar. Better than Trump. Trump sounds ridiculous when he is lying.

THSG an indicator - all it indicates is that the regulars here knew the potential outcome of a debate between these two and went into the basement in hiding to wait out the storm.

    They’re not Knuckleheads.

It reflects the lack of lunacy. Even with JD lying his ass off it lacked the moments of craziness that drives instant reaction. Normal reactions to a debate are a shoulder shrug and a few thoughts about your vote. Trump's debates generate a billion memes.
