Remember when 1/2 this board used Norvell at FSU to excuse Napier's retention? I remember.

The only thing different is that the teams will probably actually try to win the game

The best part if you really think about it is, they can both quit right now and they’re rich as hell and they don’t have to worry about a job

I don’t think Norvel is their problem. I think they forgot to buy a roster kind of like us.

I think Norvell IS part of the problem. He hasn't recruited well, so they became overly reliant on the portal. They hit several home runs the previous two years, especially Jordan Travis, that added up to a good team. But that's really hard to replicate every year, and when you're not developing younger talent as the foundation of the team things can get really ugly like it is right now.

Recruiting is done with a checkbook and they haven’t bought in. The entire organization is at fault just like florida. You can coach up what doesn’t exist.

While I agree in principle, he is ultimately responsible for who they recruit. Why he thought pursuing DJU was a good idea is a complete mystery to me.

Maybe that’s all they could afford. It seemed fairly obvious that he had been bouncing around and not very good.

I think they have enough $- they supposedly paid $13 million in NiL for this years roster. I think it is the allocation of that money (they spend more on portal than high school talent) and the evaluations of who they went after.

they paid top $ for back ups from Bama and Georgia who rarely if ever took the field at those programs but were highly rated out of high school- pretty sure none of them are doing much of anything. They paid DJU $800,000 and we know how that turned out.

Buying leftovers that can’t start at good teams and then paying $800,000 which I think is cheap for a quarterback and also a quarterback that everybody knows sucks already is not being dedicated to being a top program

yep and a few of us, @Wanne15 included cause im sure he remembers, used Taggert as a better example as FSU wasted no time realizing he’s not the one and got him up outta there instead of waiting it out. We should have done the same
