Leftovers tonight cleaning out the fridge for the weekend.

I’m sipping on a tumbler of Knob Creek small batch 100* and Ms. Jan’s enjoying her chilled wine.

I think my Braves are just teasing me this year.

Left over lasagna. Always tastes better with age.

Eating during sets 2 and 3 of the Lady Gator volleyball made it taste even better.

Speaking my language. A noon kick off so nothing I could work on in the kitchen. So, did the same thing. Smash burgers on the Egg, Oklahoma style, with onions, cheese & pickles.

Time was limited, so just went with frozen fries … though I normally make my own.

Wife made margaritas, which was nice.

…and of course, she had aa salad.

Last night we had company and I grilled some rib eyes, made corn scramble, baked potatoes and pan seared asparagus.

Tonight is old school comfort food: tamale pie from the Joy of Cooking.

Tonight, bone in ribeye, with baked potato on the side and steamed broccoli drizzled with lemon butter.

Grilled marinated chicken breasts for the wife, to put on her salads … for a couple of nights this week.

I’ll be having a side salad, but the wife will have a plate full, with said chicken.

Tonight we’re going to have spaghetti topped with Sargento shredded mozzarella cheese and a freshly made Caesar salad. Toasted mozzarella cheese bread sticks on the side.

Rain, rain, rain ahead of the storm all of y’all in Florida are bracing for.

Tumbler of Knob Creek small batch 100* works for me and Ms. Jan’s sticking with her chilled wine.

Chicken piccata with a side of spaghetti. Friends coming over because they are still without power. We lucked out and lost power for only a few seconds.

    Tonight it’s Johnny’s Pizza—since they’re open we’re going to patronize them.

Storm’s passed — we got 12 1/2” of rain. No losses.

Boy does your supper bring back memories. While I was on FHP I had a Trooper zone partner in Lake City name of Steve Compton (May he Rest In Peace). That was his absolute favorite meal. He was also a two tour Navy Seal in Vietnam.

    Thanks for making me smile.

I didn't have a dinner planned for tonight to cook after playing duplicate bridge this afternoon. Picked up some Publix fried chicken (thighs and drumsticks) and will make mashed potatoes with some Yukon golds that I have on hand. A salad will be thrown together with stuff in the crisper.

Tonight we’re having fried cubed beef steak, petite butter beans & sweet corn combo, and julienne potatoes made with heavy cream.

Overcast here all day but really pleasant-60* for the low and 76* for the high.

    @74nole,

I have to ask if your menus have changed after moving. I would suspect that access to really fresh seafood is not as good as it once was but there are areas that are cool enough at night to grow really good tomatoes. I used to get some very good tomatoes from western NC.

Yeah, I’m not grilling near as much-my setup is different plus we have more options of places to meet the kids and we’re taking advantage of them.

I don’t know the butchers here yet like I did in Marianna either. And you are right, the availability for good fresh seafood is pretty limited.
