Also, the loss to KY was a shocker, but let's not forget it took a missed ole Miss fg, a Miss fumble deep in KY territory, the cats recovering their own fumble in the EZ and a 4th down hail Mary. Ky played a near perfect game to get the win.....but they got it.[/QUOTE]
That is called losing. We know that now. This is what we do. I like LK as the hire but that was a terrible game. Are we really comfortable giving this guy $100m+? I am there but on the fence.

Recency bias is in full affect. Step back and think for a moment.

Would you take Mullen over BN?

I would have hired Kiffin over Napier. Yes, I would take Mullen over Napier. Mullen quit on us, I think BN quit too.

Who cares? The only relevant question is whether Lane is the best available candidate. I think there's an argument to be made that he is, but it's not unassailable.

Nobody wins em all. Just gotta hope when you have a bad day, so does your opponent or it's against a cupcake.

A lot of people like his confidence. Like Mullen in 2020, this is supposed to be Kiffins payoff year. Veteran team. Portal upgrades. And momentum from a 10 win season. I'm ok either that if he wins against the meat of his schedule but losing at home to Kentucky is very Mullenesque. They were double digit favorites. I just don't see how his ardent supporters think that is a really bad loss in the context I framed. It's not about losing one game to Kentucky.

He's actually not single, unless one defines that simply as not married. He's been dating that girl for a couple of years now and doesn't have a reputation of screwing around here. We'd all know. Oxford is a small town, and nothing stays quiet here.

Personally, I want no part of Cheesburger Charlie 2.0 in Gainesville

Five Guys would have to add a Triple Burger to their menu when “dad” is in town.

I mean, how can that be? His entire aura is about him being a genius offensive playcaller. I find this statement from them hard to believe.

How about a loss of a timeout and a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct?

What would you base that on? I'm not sure one way or the other. But, I did watch his post game presser after the loss, and, he acted like Cam Newton. You want your coach to lift you up after a heartbreaking close loss, but, he came across very mopey and depressed in the interview. Kinda acted like his dog died and he was just going to crawl into a hole for a week to recover from his pain. Didn't seem to take any responsibility for the loss, either. I don't think it will be long after the scoring sugar-high wears off that he does something that makes us regret his hiring. We shall see.

He looked emotional to me. I think he was stunned and upset by the outcome. I like that he wears his emotions on his sleeve.

It is possible that he has settled down and matured by dating a 2019 Ole Miss graduate. It is possible that "well, he hasn't been screwing around here!" is more predictive than... his middle-age behavior everywhere else.

Not enough for me to treat him as "back up the Brinks truck." I'd rather lose an extra game a year with Plan B than win with Joey Freshwater. Again, I realize I'm an outlier.

You’re burying the lead. Is he going to bring her with him to Gainesville or leave her in Oxford for the next Ole Miss head coach?
