Stoops inherited 2 and 10 and 0 and 8 in the SEC. He didn't have a portal or NIL to fix that so it took a few seasons to get going.

Ole miss has had eight seasons with winning SEC records in the same time frame Kentucky had one which was in 1977. Ole miss has seven .500 sec seasons in that time frame. Kentucky had four.

15 seasons of .500 or better for Ole miss in the SEC.
5 seasons .500 or better in the SEC for Kentucky. Two bad programs since 1977 but one is clearly worse.

Even when Kentucky had success overall under rich brooks and others they were still sec doormats. It's an extremely difficult place to win.

Ole miss is no picnic but they have enjoyed success that ke tucky has not in the modern era. It's not that close. These are demonstrable numbers. Ole miss also has the booster support to bring in talent Kentucky could only dream of. Treadwell, tunsil, Metcalf, brown, etc were bought and paid for but at least it showed commitment.

I don't even care that much about either coach. Our team sucks and I enjoy the banter since the season is already shot. I will say that the program needs a stabilizing force and I don't see kiffin as that guy.

Lastly, while I don't think Stoops leaves Kentucky for florida( which is crazy) I think he is at least a more realistic option than bringing up names like gundy, Lanning, Riley, Urban, etc etc.

But you have to win eventually. There’s a few guys we can go after but I don’t believe there’s a clear answer.

And can you trust him to be committed. Nobody has a crystal ball. I’m glad I don’t have any say so.

I think now that everyone can pay without fear of being singled out by big brother, you may see a team that has never been a blue blood have some boosters willing to make them a legit contender. Maybe ole Miss will pony up. For the right money, anyone can get a staff and talent.

I mean ole miss was paying something when hugh freeze was there. He was/is a dirty coach but his biggest problem was challenging Bama.

We riot if they go for Stoops. That would be an epic disaster.

Any coach with a decent resume is going to be expensive and have other options. I’d guess kiff or stoops would have multiple options and their teams would bump up to keep them also.

I think he would be our best situation since Urbs. Not exactly a disaster and possy better than kiffen. He just beat kiffen and scared the hell out of the puppies.

Which team came in preseason top 10 with all the hype from having a veteran roster and top portal acquisitions while also playing at home? I mean we roasted Mullen for losing to Kentucky at home but now it's no biggie lol.

The circular logic is mind-boggling. Kentucky sucks because they got smoked by South carolina but beating ole miss at Ole miss isn't thaaaat bad...

Maybe just debating finer points I guess.

Realistically, I have slowly come to prefer Kiffin's coaching style/record but don't think either comes to Gville, tho both would be a huge improvement. . Media would certainly love Kiffin in Gville from day 1.

I think Stoops is a good coach, just not good enough IMO . After 10/12 years I just expect better than 7 wins per season. The "it's Kentucky" discount for his record reminds me of what posters said about Mullen, which I never bought into either.

It will be interesting to see which coach ends up with the better season. Maybe both end with great seasons, maybe both crash and burn. We will soon see.

And ole miss was double digit favorites. It’s definitely eye opening a bit. It’s just one game and Kentucky doesn’t suck but still.

If kiffin steps up against the meat of their schedule I'd take his style over stoops every time. No question. I like the attitude and the offense I just don't know if it's sustainable at this juncture. That's all
