I’m with you about character no longer being a valued commodity and I hate it. I’m just not sure Kiffin is in the Bobby Petrino, Hugh Freeze category. I’ve come to tolerate, not accept, things that would have absolutely burned my behind 20 years ago. One of those things is age difference in consenting adults: Don’t like it, but it’s not uncommon anymore and I have a relative whose second marriage is to a woman 13 years younger than him. Actually seems like they are compatible. But I still think it’s not a good recipe for a successful marriage. Are you sure Kiffin is trolling the bars for students? That I would never accept. But that’s a pretty nasty thing to accuse him of if not true.
That was Alabama. Now he’s a single man who is fully entitled to act like any other single man in our culture. As far as I know, he has done nothing as head coach at FAU or Ole Miss to bring disgrace to his university. I’m happy to assume he has grown since Alabama.

I agree it is nasty. I can't say I personally saw it, nor vouch for the reporting. But there are articles which have photos. It's reasonable to ask that I include (and emphasize) the word "allegedly."
I think what most are missing is he has a history of pissing off the wrong people and when the heat gets really hot …he leaves. I will take Kiff’s offense, all day long. But he does alienate people, instigates social media wars, and …there is all the extra baggage. Believe me, none of his previous employers feel the same way about him as many of you do. I’m a HARD pass on him as a hire. There are certainly better options.
Is it really recruiting anymore? Can a coach lure a kid to a school based on rings, and trophies and what a great and outstanding education the kid gets? I think that’s all by the wayside now. I think what we are seeing is the early symptoms of the side effects of NIL. These kids want one thing: money. I think that’s why a head coach is under more pressure to just coach, it’s the money that will get the best athletes. The way the system works now, if the kid doesn’t see the opportunity to get the NFL’s attention they leave for more money or a better opportunity. It breaks my heart. No loyalty, no allegiance, a school is a stepping stone on the way to riches that now an 18 year old can get.

100% this. They need to figure out a NFL model. There needs to be a commissioner, there needs to be a salary cap, and there needs to be contracts longer than 1 year to make college football great again!

I think they should burn a timeout. Guys trying to run off the field with a broken leg to not get five yards that could decide the game isn’t the proper solution either. Something needs to be done though because that is bs.
I did love the dude doing the funky chicken in the 70’s but players basically doing a skit in the endzone became way too much and I hate it now too.
Well realistically the preseason ranking was deserved. Coming off an 11-2 season finishing with a bowl win, a good portal and the starting QB back. Yea, after Sat they look overrated but still a long way to go. Also, the loss to KY was a shocker, but let's not forget it took a missed ole Miss fg, a Miss fumble deep in KY territory, the cats recovering their own fumble in the EZ and a 4th down hail Mary. Ky played a near perfect game to get the win.....but they got it.
