We need Old Miss to lose two more to keep them out of the playoffs and good Coach Kiffin frustrated about the ceiling of his current program.
I said this before but the Lane enjoyers were hyped by a high preseason ranking and beating up on cupcakes.
He's a little too far out there for my liking. I don't know if his antics would play well at Florida. Kind of reminds me of Zook with the frat house. Just my opinion.
What I don't understand is that it was late in the half and they had all 3 timeouts left. Just don't be a douche and take the timeout.
Indeed. So, Ole Miss fans are mad at him for sticking by an OC? Good news, Gator fans are famously patient about coordinators. For me, everything still seems like the man-child frat house. Calling in a "RB-drop-to-the-ground-injured" from the sideline? Check. The celebrations just mentioned? Check. Trolling Hugh Freeze about NIL? Check. And that was just last week. We haven't approached the co-ed issue. Or his end at Bama, USC, UT, Raiders. I realize "win at all costs" is the order of the day in Gatorland. I won't be missed.
Rather than a yardage penalty, make the player sit out for a number of plays. Or a set amount of time. If they were too hurt to play the next play, they need to be off the field for long enough that the trainers can thoroughly check them out and clear them to return.
There was a discussion last week about "that wasn't a student, that was his daughter." Before that comes up here, I wasn't talking about that. He and his wife divorced while he was at Bama over infidelity with rather salacious rumors. Joey Saltwater then took his act to FAU, where he put points on the board. And to Ole Miss, where he matched up with 2019 grad Sally Rychlak. And what 44 year old doesn't want a fishing buddy.
How about instead of a penalty the player can't come back in on the series or the next which would stop a lot of this crap.
Right now, they must be off the field for only one play. Make them stay off an entire series would cut down on that garbage.
I thought about this, but then you would put more work on officials to keep track who and when players can come back into the game for both teams and police it in real time. It's one thing to have officials manage eligibility for one play or to throw someone out for the game, but to track series, game time, or # plays for potentially multiple players would get way more complicated than I think it would be worth. If something is ever done, whatever method chosen needs to be simple and straightforward to administer.
He’s a good coach for sure. The knock him is his age and I’m not sure Gator fans are ready for another Sunbelt coach of the year.
The dumb thing is this is a really easy problem to solve, and you've got the obvious solution. Either make the "injured" player sit for the rest of the drive and quarter. I don't get why this hasn't been implemented yet.
Seriously, do you care about what a single adult male does consensually with a single adult female? If Lane comes to Gainesville and puts his family back together, I’ll applaud it, but it will be none of my business. If he comes to Gainesville and bangs every chick, unmarried and north of 18 years, who wants to be banged, then so long as he wins ball games, it will still be none of my business. Good for him.
Yes. In Alabama, he was married. Beyond that, a near-fifty-year-old trolling the bar scene for students is a bad look for a university employee. Again, I realize that in this forum, as in sports, as in national politics, character has become optional. We demand less from those to whom we give more. My opinion is mine, but outvoted. This creep will make a gazillion bucks.
