GAME THREAD: Colorado at UCF, Sat. at 3:30pm on Fox

I laughed when I read this. While nearly every coaching staff studies the film of future opponents and looks to take advantage of weaknesses by tweaking things as well as seeing the strengths to make other adjustments, based on our game plans - which never change on offense or defense- I am no longer sure this staff even watches film.

or if they do, they watch film like a young Brett Favre. On one of his NFL films shows they show a young Brett Favre and coach Mike Holgrem. Coach is watching film with Favre and trying to understand what he is seeing on film. Favre mentioned the coach kept talking about nickel and dime defense and Favre finally asks - what do you mean when you say nickel and dime defense.

Coach assumed as a 2nd or 3rd year nfl qb that Favre knew how to watch film and understand normal football terms and concepts. Turned out he didn’t. That is how I assume Napier and Roberts and staff are when- or if- they review film. Since they never adjust anything based on the opponent they either don’t know what they are watching or truly are so hard headed they believe they can run their stuff on everyone.

 

Thank The Good Lord we don’t play Colorado or Sanders would embarrass us big time.

 

Just because Farve didn’t understand the terminology, don’t think for a second that he didn’t understand exactly what was going on on the football field.
