Many will remember when UCF was known as FTU. They changed their name to UCF in 1978. I have a few friends with FTU degrees.

Their football program began in 1979 in Division III....and eventually to Division I in 1996.

UCF has a powerful running game. It will be a challenge to beat them.

They ran for 177 against Colorado. That isn’t exactly power house. K-state ran for 300 against Okie State. That is power house.

I was out at the site when governor Kirk dug the first spade to begin working on FTU. I was a firefighter in Orlando at the time.

Something tells me a good percentage of those sold out tickets are UCF fans.

Yay…but I think UCF will rush for 300 yards against our leaky defense. Colorado Total Defense ranking is #89, UF is at #112. As for Rushing Defense, Colorado is #86 and UF #109. Freaking depressing looking at our defense statistics.

Check the offensive stats for their other games.

Look at the opposition for those games. That’s like saying Napier has created an offensive juggernaut based on the Samford and Miss St. games. The only team they have played with a pulse resulted in pedestrian rushing statistics.

The Knights rushed for 384 yards and scored six rushing touchdowns in the victory, as UCF has now rushed for 838 yards with 11 touchdowns on the ground through the first two games of the season. The Knights lead the nation with 419.0 rushing yards per game, which is over 100 more than the next-closest Power Four Conference team (Rutgers 307.0). UCF has ranked among the nation’s top 10 in rushing offense each of the past two seasons.

    • UCF is the only team in the nation that has rushed for at least 140 yards in each of the last 15 games, dating back to last season. During that span, the Knights have rushed for 200 or more yards 11 times and 250 plus five times.

Gus, is that you? Their stats are padded against Sam Houston, New Hampshire, and a bad TCU team.

Looking at last year to call this year anything is silly. FSU was 13-1 last year. How did that translate?

They could rush for 1,000 against this UF defense. That doesn’t make them a power house run team. Our D is TERRIBLE! If UCF plays a top 25 defense, they’ll look like the bottom feeder they are.

A mediocre Texas A&M offense had their way against UF in the Swamp. UCF's offense is probably capable of doing the same.

I have no idea what to make of the point spread, but the point total of 58.5 feels low.
