Neither for or against LK. I’m a pessimist and believe the school of Dickey and the others will screw it up. (I see Chadwell in the future.) Are you concerned that LK has never won a “big” game or seems to have that one bad loss each year?
A bad UCF team will give us everything we can handle because we don’t have the coaches that apparently Colorado has as they have completely shut down the UCF running backs. A physical Kentucky defense will dominate our offensive line.
Yeah.........that sounds all good if it were true. Thing is, Ole Miss has out recruited Kentucky 3 of the last 4 years. Three years ago Kentucky had the #5 SEC class, but other than that............ both have recruited in and around the bottom portion of the SEC.
No, if you think it through, what you just stated actually proves my point further. Yes, I obviously knew Saban and Bama had a conveyer belt of talent established prior to Kiffin's arrival. Which is exactly why a guy like Nick Saban wouldn't just hand over the reigns to anyone, where even a small drop off in talent could make the difference in Bama securing another natty and securing 2nd place. That Saban entrusted Kiffin with that task speaks volumes. And think about who Saban didn't hire. Yet, that guy has still been able to out-recruit Kiffin, because you can pull Top 20 classes at UF in your sleep as a HBC.
Jim McElwain and Doug Nussmeier were also OC's under Saban. The later had #1 rated recruiting classes. The argument that someone could sleepwalk to top 20 classes at UF but was critical in recruiting under Saban that had half a dozen different OCs pull in top classes is completely devoid of rational thought.
If I look at the team rankings the last 4 years on Rivals, it goes like this: 2024: Ole Miss 2023: Kentucky 2022: Kentucky 2021: Ole Miss 2022 was not even close with UK at #14 and Ole Miss at #37. How many 2021 recruits are still there on either team? I'm sure there are some, but more recently UK has had the upper hand over Ole Miss. At worst, Mark Stoops has been able to match Kiffin's recruiting at Kentucky. It's easier to recruit to Lexington than it is to Oxford. When is the last time UF had a #37 (or lower) ranked class? Through all of the coaching changes and horrible coaching, we've never dipped that low. Ask yourself why. P.S. not sure why I'm wasting my time. Anybody who knows anything about college football knows Florida is a destination school for many obvious reasons.
Kiffen would be in my top 3 at minimum. Not what I was questioning. Was questioning why he would have the no1 recruiting class at UF. Nothing data wise would support such a conclusion and having that as an expectation would be counter productive should he be hired.
Well, what would “you” prefer? Four more years of Napier or another crap shoot on this year’s hot hand out of the Big Sky Conference?
I decline to answer this ridiculous question, since it offers only ridiculous choices. What do you want? Four more years of eating jellyfish, or taking a crap shoot on seaweed?
.Kerwin Bell - 5 million a year, 10 million buy out. Lane Kiffen, 15 million a year, 100 million buy out. Give me Bell!
