Meh, he’s still light years better than BN. Stoops gave Kirby fits also. Kirby is still a good coach.
I love all the posters who changed their UK predictions to a win after MSU. UF will be dogs in every game and many by double digits.
I didn’t necessarily change my prediction but uk looked like straight trash against usc, these last two weeks have been surprising
I like his Podup! Shane said his top choices are Kiffin and Riley, and from people he knows they both would be interested. For what it’s worth.
Prime is growing on me as an option It is a risk, but I feel like he can jumpstart this brand again, and kill it in recruiting. I like the offenses they have ran, I watch them every week. I don’t view defense being a huge issue for him and a staff to recruit down here. What I like about Prime is it seems like he leans on dudes being dudes on the field. When coaches have done that here they have been successful. Florida isn’t a complicated place to come in and win at, and I think recently it has had coaches try to take complicated approaches to it. All this scheme and being cute. When Meyer was here we came right at people, people knew what we were going to do. We were in a 4 man front and recruited true defensive ends. It was a brand of Football reliant on having DUDES. Napier has come in here and tried to run an offense centered around multiple TEs, and shifts with play action off gap scheme run plays. That’s great for Iowa. Florida can recruit SPEED, and guys who can make plays in space. There are a ton of those kids down here. We need to play a style of ball that maximizes that. The same can be said for the defense. We play a 3 man front with Odd spacing and have since the defense starting taking a slide years before Napier. That’s great when you consistently recruit strong B gap defenders and pluggers. That works great at Michigan. Here in Florida we have true ends and speed at the backer spots. You play 4 man fronts. At the minimum we will lock down this state in recruiting, and play a stronger scheme fit for our program. But whatever we do, we need to be a 10 personal team that occasionally uses a move Y on offense, and a team that plays a 4 down front, and plays more 1 high structure. We can recruit the ends and corners that make a scheme like that possible here.
Riley ain’t leaving LA Shane may not know the definition of hyperbole but he is a master in it’s use.
