No, the UAA Board is not capable of hiring a new head coach. They have no experience doing it and who would take the lead? Guess what would happen, chaos!

I think we get a new Pres around when we start next season. He hopefully evaluates the situation and fires SS and BN strategically. He should have his AD already in mind. That should be part of the interview process IMO. The next coach should be part of the AD hiring process. No bloody nose for the university.

What are you even thinking? Giving SS and Fuchs another shot at it is the very definition of insanity! WTH man!

When a new president comes on board, what makes you think he/she will consider football the most important thing to deal with?

I don't what you're getting at. I never mentioned the board hiring a coach. You asked under our circumstances who could hire a new AD. I responded that the UAA board could hire a new AD.

Do you really have any confidence in Fuchs and Stricklin to hire another coach with their track record? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Heck, Mullen is still on the payroll until 2027. How long can we afford to keep paying people to not work. It’s crazy!

They won’t be hiring the coach.

I like him a lot. He’s just old. I’ll take old if he’s for an extremely proven commodity.

That being said he fits the exact profile I love. Huge turnarounds at multiple schools screams consistent repeatable winning process. That’s what Urban did.

If he can stabilize this program, I'll take the 3-5 years we get out of him.

A search committee will make a strong recommendation of one guy just like most other schools do and Stricklin will be forced to sign the contract by the ones with the big checkbook . It’s not hard and happens on a regular basis. How do you think DeBoar was hired.

I think that a search committee led by their AD selected and hired him. Who do you think is on this search committee? What are their qualifications? The AD position exists for a reason.

It takes 3 posts to say you want Napier for a minimum of 2,and up to 3, more seasons. I’d rather be in year 2 of our next coach because despite your absolute conviction that any coach SS hires next will be a disaster, we Know this coach is a disaster and don’t know who will be our next AD nor when they will come. We disagree. It’s fine.

the search committee is independent that’s the whole purpose. They search based on given criteria by who ever is hiring them. You can’t really be this naive. There are professional search firms that are hired every year by people looking to hire someone.

Well hopefully they use a different search committee this time.

Do you honestly believe that Alabama hired a search firm to find Kalen DeBoer? I think that they decided who they wanted and then went and got him. Do you think that a search firm was hired to find Billy or Mullen? Are you that naive? SS brought Mullen in due to their relationship at MSU and it has been written that SS went out and hired BN.

Show me where I said we should keep BN for 2 to 3 more seasons. I’ll wait.
