I believe this is the whole illegal inducement and a key factor of what happened with Rashada too. He signed LOI then went to sign the NIL and was backed out of.

The way the rule is setup is just asking for these sorts of problems. Come here and we will give you X, we can't sign anything before you get here though, oh and it doesn't come from us actually you got to go talk to the collective. Just ass backwards way of doing business.

    Makes you wonder how thi
Dig deeper. Most of his stats came against Utah state and he had a precipitous drop since joining UNLV. My ignorance was accidental. Yours is willful to justify your argument.

That is a Mountain West conference matchup. By what standard would a conference games results be discounted or ignored? Should Mertz/DJ stats last week vs MSU not count?

Interesting take on the school leveraging the Pac-12 for more money from the Mountain West. Player asks for what was verbally promised and the school paints him as a cheat (pay for play) and quitter.

If he isn't going to be an NFL player then he could, oh, I don't know, maybe take advantage of the free education to get a good job maybe? That's crazy talk.

I think one thing that the college kids don't see is something that NFL players do and that is this: You are always auditioning for your NEXT job (or contract). Everything you put on film (or don't put on film) is an audition to advance your career. If you are holding out or being a mercenary in college, you are showing something to the next school or the NFL.

The issue is a player is never fired for underperforming. They might get benched but even in the case of our gators, really bad players are starting games and a number of them have NIL deals. I wonder if anyone has looked into those with NIL deals and their performance vs those without. Are they really putting up great numbers or average?

We don’t have enough info to know what he’s focused on, but that’s what he is doing…choosing the best option in a free degree. I don’t think he had this option before this year, so…

Agreed, but it is also eroding my interest in CFB. I hate it, but my enthusiasm for the game that I used to love is getting closer to a divorce.

The dude doesn't have an NFL future. He ain't auditioning for anything. He is trying to make as much as he can before effectively retiring.

And for me, it would be the principle of the thing. If they broke the word to me, I’m done.

I would say it’s probably common knowledge amongst the players with everybody’s kind of getting. There was a kid we lost to Texas A&M a few years ago that supposedly got 750,000 for going there. We were recruiting him and one of my customers kid played seven on seven ball with him. He said every single one of the kids was getting that kind of money.

Any ideas, insights or speculation what DJ's deal is for? Or Mertzy? (pronounced in a young highpitched Spurrier voice).
