Pretty sure that exact thing has already happened and Mullen was forced to fire Grantham and Hevesy before the season ended in 2021. I suspect that the fallout of this event and Mullen's actions afterwards sealed the AD's decision to fire him than rather than allow him another year to see if things could be turned around.
Sorry you don't like it @obone Napier should be fired. It's a stupid concept to have an AD force changes to his staff in year three. It should have been addressed day 1.
I agree I do not feel it will happen, but if we get a confirmation under the table from a coach the boosters want, he is fired even if we win out the rest of the season.
Same nonsense as with that vaycay boy. If you need to give your coach staff ultimatums, He Is Not Your Coach. In simple terms, folks want Stricky to be the Coach’s Coach and Fuch’s the AD’s coach. hiring competence is job one
I think this was the problem in the preseason- I’ll be interested to hear the stories of who , if anyone, we tried to get as Oc or DC or DL that wouldn’t come before we ended up with Captain Ron and no Oc
Probably needs to brush up on his golf game while he has free access to the UF course, get any health issues/pending checkups done, and talk to a retirement planner and buy a nice big boat while he has employment income. At least that's what I'd do.
All of this should have been done / demanded after 2023 season ended in November of 2023. That ship has sailed. Napier is toast.
Agree completely! This whole scenario suggests Napier gets one more year, because no major coaching changes will be made in season. Hopefully the situation with the President of the university gets resolved soon, so that we can move on from this whole mess.
I doubt that Billy would be able to attract the coaching you’re outlining here. Billy is viewed as a dead man walking by the sports media. The Gator legends have turned on him. The boosters have turned on him. The fan base has turned on him. Any assistant knows it’s very likely a one year job then they have to leave and find a new job. No assistant worth their weight would come here under Napier. Now add to that what Saban said on national television and the suggestion that Stricklin wouldn’t be making the next football hire, you can see that Billy’s coaching tenure is sinking very fast.
Allegedly Jeremy Foley made strong suggestions to Steve Spurrier about his staff, which was a factor in SOS leaving UF.
Read carefully. You responded to my post that had nothing to do with you or what I was talking about.
Not supposed to be about your post... There are posts missing, from other people. I don't see where I posted my post as a response to what you said.
