hopefully we don’t forget some of our most valuable military assets like last time. F-22 stealth fighters left behind at Tyndall AFB damaged beyond repair by Hurricane Michael - The Aviation Geek Club
Apparently the storm is intensifying faster than the models predicted. Hurricane Hunter is getting readings now of 991 MB and dropping.
It's a pretty big manufacturer here. They also bought a metric shit-ton of MRE's. They are stored in a warehouse in case they are ever needed. Which is hopefully never.
Yeah.....there are still a lot of houses not on pilings. My grandad built one of the old concrete block originals about 80 years ago and it's never had a drop of water in it to this day. The island is actually really saturated already. Tons of standing water in the low areas so it's really gonna be bad in that regard. So much of the new construction is in areas I wouldn't touch. But at least they are all on pilings so it will just be driveways, pools, and ground level storage rooms
I'll bet I'd recognize that house. Michael blew off much of our siding and sent maybe a foot and a half of water through the downstairs room and garage. The main part of the house is on wooden pilings and not as high as the concrete ones they building on now.
It's on west gulf beach....sold it to Harry A years ago. Looks run down now. My lot is on canal off 8th st

This storm didn't get the memo. Every Gulf and Atlantic storm has to somehow impact our weather here on the NC coast. This one is clearly drunk. (Everyone stay safe)
