Also, let's not forget that it was reported then Lincoln Riley and Kelly both had interest in UF and their representation reached out about the position after Mullen was let go, but UF apparently had no interest.

Apart from the LSU reports of them not thinking Napier was ready for the big league, it was widely viewed as a great hire. "He'll bring Clemson's culture and Alabama's organization" were quotes I read in the press then.

What infrastructure that is not related to the fan-side of the experience do we still need? We have the indoor facility now. We have the dedicated football facility adjacent to the stadium with all the technical bells and whistles, we have the upgraded S&C facilities, we have the pool and recreation areas for the soft athletes. We have a new NIL collective. Time to focus on the stadium; nothing else is keeping us from winning on the football infrastructure side. The problem is with the football program, not the sports facilities anymore.

I would say that the infastructure that is missing is a President and Athletic Director that share the same vision to make football a priority at UF again. Without that we just have some nice buildings.

It was in at least one of the articles way back when they first started talking about the reno. I thought it was where the UF golf course is currently, not Archer road, but a new stadium was talked about briefly. Very briefly.

Yes, those are the personnel issues we have. The physical infrastructure is there, but, the organization is apparently not.

Archer road and the UF golf course are not in close proximity to each other.

Don’t know what you consider close, but archer road is about a mile from the UF golf course.

A mega expensive state of the art football palace out in the burbs may sound appealing, but there is also the history and character of the old Swamp. First things first anyway. Get this ship off the reef, fix the holes, and get the program going in the right direction again. Dead in the water for too damn long. Four coaches over the past 15 years and none of them turned out. What's the common denominator aside from them not working out?

I'm assuming this is how the conversation goes for top recruits:

How much will I get paid annually?
What kind of car will I get?
Will you pay for my parents to come to home and away games?
Will my parents have a place to stay for home games?

facilities are an afterthought, its all about the $$$$

There is plenty of blame to go around here. Both positions are right. Our administration has had spits, stops, and sputters in getting on board the new college football paradigm and prioritizing their big cash cow over the years AND the coaches that they picked have been a bunch of duds.

The difference between a yes and a no when the money is close IS the facilities. They do matter.

that didn’t bother me. Almost 50% of the FBS programs don’t have an on field special teams coach- Georgia has never had one under Kirby. It all depends on who you hire as an analyst not whether they are 1 of the 10 on field coaches.

They should be at least a secondary thought right now. UF missed the train on the Facilities war and never got in the fight until it was over. Now "somebody" wants to spend hundreds of millions of $$ on gutting the stadium?! I don't get it. Spend that money on some players that can play and a coach that can coach and watch BHG burst at the seams and the money come flooding in along with the W's.

Maybe my digs where I live and the locker room (brand new right now). Personally I think #2 and 2a is what is the coach's track record of putting players into the league and is it a winning program....facilities are on down the list.

Lot of donors want their money on something and a comfortable place to sit;)

    Both things are true

Re stadium renovation, what's the purpose, if you know. If it's bad for the future of home games, would an AD on his own be able to make that decision? Someone has to sanity check such an expenditure.

There are plenty of comfy places to sit....the sky boxes are right above them. My suggestion for those that can't afford one of them is to pull up their recliner in front of the big screen at home if their heinies can't handle 3.5 hours on BHG bleachers.

I would be willing to bet that 10 out of 10 boosters would prioritize a winning program over comfy seating. They wouldn't need that seating then anyway because they would be standing up hollering while our Gators are beating the brakes off some poor schmuck team.

It seems the current BOT is more interested in making sure the faculty isn't progressive than making progress in football. Sasse will be replaced by another like him.

What's involved in having a private entity controlling the program? Aren't other schools doing that?

Apparently somebody at the UAA is married to the idea that we must make the seating more comfy or future season ticket holders won't materialize. I guess he hasn't noticed BHG filled to the rafters despite the lousy product he has helped put on the field. BHG needs upgrades...not mass renovations and any renovations that would reduce capacity 10-15% like has been discussed should have never been on the table to begin with.
