You keep proving my point for me. I appreciate it. 3,000 times over 2 years would be acceptable to pretty much any normal person. Build the wall, incorporate AI, drones, more manned guards. Will 100% save lives because it will cut down on the fentanyl flowing into our country(also need to increase our fentanyl checkpoints for incoming goods at shipping points). Thanks for showing how well a wall works.

The wall works only with armed guards. Israel attempted to guard it's wall with mostly high tech cameras and sensors, and took most of the people out of the equation. Hamas was able to defeat the tech and take out most of the cameras and sensors with common drones you can purchase at Wal-Mart.

Must of the 2000 mile border with Mexico is uninhabited, and not easily accessible by motorized vehicle. There aren't any services for miles and miles. How to propose these areas of the wall be manned 24/7/365?

As for drugs, 90% come in smuggled at legal entry ports. We'd do much better focusing enforcement there than building a boondoggle wall to try and catch only 10% max.

Yep. And which one of us can't answer simple questions posed by the other? Look in the mirror when you typed the last response? Or, are you actually going to attempt to answer how we are going to handle the logistics of getting personnel, equipment, and facilities to remote areas along the border? And is it worth spending the billions to do so? And isn't it better to go after the 90% of drugs trafficked through legal ports of entry versus attempting to just tackle the 10% that enter by mules?

Ironic that the person who refuses to answer questions is claiming others are stupid. Because if you can't answer simple questions, who are you to call others stupid? I guess it takes a special kind of stupid?

Can't fix stupid. I've tried to talk to some of these posters in good faith and they either lie or won't admit they were wrong. Until they do they will get ignored and laughed at.

And how is a wall going to stop the estimated 40% of illegals that entered the country legally and overstayed their visas? Just asking.

What? We deport those people the best we can. Make the employers responsible if they are employing people who are here illegally. Anytime someone goes to a Govt agency(DMV, Social Security Office) run a check. I get you want to try to change the subject because you proved for me that a wall does work. Just need more of a wall built and add AI, drones and more manpower.

A secure border and stay in mexico would most likely alleviate issues like below.

We've never had a secure Southern border with Mexico. How many billions are we willing to spend to make the border more secure? Is it worth it? A wall alone is useless, and the tech plus manpower to make it a defensible position would come with an astronomical cost.

As for remain in Mexico, it was a pandemic era XO that requires a state of emergency to enact without Congress making a law. Remain in Mexico also came with its own problems, including a humanitarian disaster just South of the US border. How do we stop this from spilling over onto the US side? Especially when in border towns see a ton of foot traffic going both ways on a daily basis? If you have tens of thousands of refugees waiting right on the border, thousands of school kids in Mexico crossing to get educated in the US (legally by the way), and only handful of BP Agents, this is a recipe for disaster. Or, do you really think asylum seekers are going to just wait patiently in Mexico while they are robbed, raped, and hurt?

Illegal entry, based on border arrests, was lower in July 2024 than during Donald Trump’s last month in office, undermining the former president’s campaign message on immigration and border security. Government data confirm that recent immigration actions by the Biden administration and Mexico’s government have reduced Border Patrol encounters at the Southwest border, a proxy for illegal entry. Donald Trump argued he left office with the “most secure” border in history, but analysts pointed out that was untrue even before the July 2024 border numbers.
