Bad timing. If we had fired CBN after year two like I wanted to we would have a coach.Year two is my litmus test for coaches. I expect significant improvement in year two. Napier failed this test. The great coaches pass this test. Look it up. Jedd Fisch passed the test at UA. At a basketball school he went 1-11 in year one. He was cleaning up the mess Kevin Sumlin left behind. 7-5 in year two including a win over his in state rival. Significant improvement. Year three 10-3. Left for UW last year. He is my choice. No Kiffin baggage and as we all know a UF grad. Still think we should make the phone call to him.

I don't really care, but per internet, they started dating in 2023, 4 years out of college which made her 25-26, not a coed too young to drink. Yea, big age gap but it's not unique these days and she's certainly qualified to make her own decisions at that age.

He could be the guy no doubt. id prefer if he had at least won that weak conference but he’s done well so far and it’s still early in his career. I’d rather hire him in a few years when he’s had more success but here we are and we have to hire someone.

I am pollyanish in my belief that the alum of a school "gets it" over someone that isn't. I accept Kirby Smart's desire to absolutely humiliate us when we play because it was done to him by us when he played. He is, to us, what SOS is to them: a rival that hates us as much/more than the fans do. And if I have a choice to get a man with a) previous HC experience and b) unproven upside that c) knows Florida fans/admin/expectations and d) gets our rivalry opponents, I'd be 100% on board with it. And without the Kiffin ordure.

 

No coach in his right mind would sign up for your 2 years and out the door ‘litmus test’

 

I loved Urban Meyer plan to win metrics that the teams needs to win. One thing Urban talks about is taking momentum in a game and the way to do that is win the last 5 mins of a half and the first 5 of the next. That’s momentum for real.

napiers teams do the opposite. Lose momentum at the half and start slowly in the 2nd half. This happened against miss state too. The dogs scored in less than a minute before the half and in the 2nd half we go 3 n out and the dogs scored again. This is all about preaching to the team the importance of little things that they need to focus on.

 

But some on here would rather continue to have a crappy program because he’s not a nice guy. We see what nice guy got us. I’ll take the prick.

 

His record is 20-23 and if he had no ties to UF no one would even consider him.
