The only thing he has in common with Matt Bonner is that they're both white basketball players.

They are also similar in size, and both were very talented high school players.

There is more in common is my hope for this year.

Skin tone has nothing to do with it.

Matt Bonner is one of the all time Gator greats. As a stretch 3 I can see the comparison. Bonner was listed at 6'10" 240 lbs. Haugh is 6'9" 210 lbs.

Here is a nice little blurb from Matt's UF bio.
"The only player in school history with better than 1,500 points, over 750 rebounds and more than 150 three-pointers."

Yeah, but shame on him for getting a B+ in one of his courses. By the way, Matt was measured at 6'81/2" without shoes by the NBA combine folks.

I don't remember who said it, but one guy on this board once said, "Bonner shoots like Larry Bird and runs the floor like Frankenstein." :D

Haugh's ascendance is going to come down to one thing... outside shooting. If he becomes a serious and consistent threat from the perimeter, he will be a problem.

Well, there's also the free-throw shooting.

    or perhaps a Chandler Parsons-lite

Lite? Maybe. Certainly he's more similar to CP than to Bonner. But he was better as a freshman than CP was as a freshman.

Hopefully he has a bigger sophomore jump than Parsons, he didn’t really come into his own until his Junior year

Yep. Parsons had more of a steady improvement line over his four years. Not a huge sophomore jump.
