in a vaccum yes- but we saw in hiring one this past offseason and an OC - nobody wanted to come because they saw the writing on the wall.. hell, that S&c dude got here and looked around and said “I’d rather spend my summers in Boston “ lol

Chauncy was the last one we had that was good/great. It made such a difference for everyone.

Slaughter and Barber will on OL.
Have a couple on DL that also will play.

Lyons, Boureu, and Slackman down at our worst position on defense. That hurts.

Slaughter and Barber might but they can’t carry a weak line. I doubt any of our interior dline will play on Sundays unless it’s the younger guys .

That kid Harvey from UCF must be licking his chops. Rushed for 448 already, as a team avg well over 6 yards a carry, almost 7. KJ Jefferson knows how to beat us.

This game does not set up well for a drained swamp and a horrible front 4.

I obviously want to belive in UF but given the injury situation, lack of pass rush, KJ's
ability to scramble, and UCF's ability to rush the ball it really looks worrisome. They could control the ball for 40 minutes!

The offense better score on every possession and we better hope UCF turns it over 3 or 4 times or we are in big trouble.

Hopefully the coaches get more aggressive against the run at least initially. If we can get the lead early that'll help force them to pass.

Agree, better stack the box and play press coverage. I worry KJ will eat us alive.

Have you ever seen BN aggressive play-calling at anything? He plays safe all the times.

During the game, one of the announcers said Roberts told him that the players on our defense didn’t trust each other. If so, I hope they’ll develops some trust in the next two weeks.

Also, some years ago, I heard Batesy say that the job of the defensive tackles was to keep the guards off the linebackers. Sure enough, when a run goes up the middle, and you wonder where the middle linebacker is, he usually is trying to fight off a guard as the running back is going by.

Looking at the different groupings on offense, here’s what I see:

    Quarterbacks - Really good
    Tight Ends - Really good
    Running Backs - Really good
    Wide Receivers - Good
Offensive Line - Barber and Slaughter and 3 question marks

Mixed bag with him. Doesn't seem to be a great recruiter but maybe it doesn't matter now when you just buy players. Has coached some good WRs throughout his time but if he left I don't know that we'd miss him much.
