Winning is the only thing I will go for. If I knew ahead of time that Miami was going to bitch slap us, I would have stayed home. I won’t be coming back this year under any circumstances.
Lol. Reading the difference of opinions in this thread is a good indication of why UF will probably continue to suck. I guarantee those differences exist in the UAA.
Yeah I skipped the last game to help out at a dog park/bar. Wish our defense had teeth like the doby.
So do you think the fans and boosters are just not giving enough? I haven’t heard we are short on funds, just that we won’t get in a bidding war.
The swamp is old. Needs serious work, much of which is not possible with structure. I agree with you, but reality….. of course I liked Champ, so….. lipstick on an old Gator
I think there are issues on multiple levels. The NIL deals are cut on the fan side though, at least for now. And with the “cap” they’ve put in place, football NIL will still largely rely on the fanbase to fund it and cut the deals even when the schools start paying directly. Nobody is stopping you from cutting whatever deal you want. If you want to get in a bidding war, go get in a bidding war.
It depends on how much influence Napier has on the play calling on both sides of the ball. Kind of like Muschamp, we could get a different OC, and yet the offense would continue to look the same. The hope is that without Napier looking over their shoulder, the coaching staff might open things up and try something different.
We are in deep trouble. Every potential coach we like except Lane showed their weaknesses this week. We are on the Lane train for sure. I don't know how we get Lane but I've come full circle. The only way I think we get him is if he wants to come here. Ole Miss can match money, they will be in the playoff late in the selection process before he can get here. But he loses his core. IMO, the thing that gets him here is one DJ Lagway and the promise of the absolute speed and playmakers we have at receiver. Lane would be fine having every game be the over. "Pay that man his money."
While I would be fine getting Lane even good coaches lose games and there's plenty of season left for stuff to happen, not going to overreact to one week.
Every coach has weaknesses, the winners surround themselves with folks smarter that compliment their abilities
Isn't that the tricky part, firing Napier is easy. Hiring his replacement is hard. Are there are any sure thing coaches out there right now willing to jump schools? Lane is the closest, and then ....? And what if Lane thinks he can win championships at Ole Miss, is he even really considering jumping. We should reach out to his agent and see if there is any interest, but if there isn't, what then?
When it comes to established head coaches, I think it is Lane or bust. IMO we need to get our house in order first (Pres and AD). If he isn’t interested then I think you reach out to Jedd Fisch.
I’m surprised how little you know about what is happening. Actually, I’m not. The Lagway million dollar NIL Wasn’t funded by fans The other deals put in place are funded by big money donors not by Fans giving 1000 here or there 20 donors tops control the spending for the players
