The problems run deeper than that. The powers that be that run the program have failed us and continue to do so. This isn't entirely on Napier.
What exactly the admin failed Napier? What did we do from admin that is inferior to Georgia and bama? sure they should have started to upgrade the facility when urban was here and should have given Mullen a bigger budget for recruiting. Now they have given Napier everything.
Two losing seasons followed by a third hanging around break even by beating the likes of Sanford, msu, UCF, Uk and a sorry fsu? I’d definitely fire him.
SIAP: Nothing wrong with your take. There IS an analogy out there: I just KNOW I can make an epic as good as Lawrence of Arabia. All I need is the resources to pull it off and it is WAY more expensive today than it was in 1964. Honest. Um, why would my conviction lead to a movie company funding me? You want to make an epic? Make a couple of nice films and make some nice profits and THEN sell them the grand vision. Napier never got to the nice profits on the bigger stage, only at the "indy film" level. This was all on Stricklin and whoever wanted to believe. And yes, I wanted to believe it also. But then again, it wasn't my hard-earned money being burned up.
Not sure they competed in NIL like they should have. We lost two critical offensive linemen to Miami probably due to NIL and several members of last year’s class again probably due to NIL. We had a top 5 class before losing all those guys. I would consider NIL in the realm of “admin”.
He really slow walked his initial year wanting to evaluate everything. Unfortunately, everything was also slow year two. The window for creating excitement and riding that wave is small. He missed it.
I was never a fan of hiring BN, I thought it should have been Kiffin 3 years ago, but with that stated up front. Yes, we look terrible, yes we may not win another game, but if this team somehow only lost 3 more games, what would you think about BN and him getting another year? So we go 7-5. I wonder how many would react to that.
No what? No that is not happening, yes certainly not, but that is not the question. No, I would not want him to get another year? Elaborate
Possibly, but it is a message board and I did not say that was happening, but thanks for playing along and adding nothing.
I too wanted Kiffin 3 years ago and I want him again but, if somehow Billy went 7-5 (not going to happen) then he would earn another year in my eyes.
I would keep him if he goes 7-5. That was my target. He would have to upgrade at DC and get a real OC as well. That said, I doubt we win more than 1-2 more games. I really believe we lose the rest.
Adding some imaginary pie in the sky scenario where we only lose three more games with our schedule and dysfunction adds so much more...why not put us in the playoffs, give us not one but two more championships while you're at it. Maybe it was best said by saying how many more games does Napier need to win to keep his job next year which falls back to a question which has been asked 100 times already.
Do you go to the games? Our stadium has become a dump. Water all over the passageways, fire-hazard crowding in the ramps, completely unacceptable gate entry infrastructure, filthy bathrooms with no supplies, seats that children hardly fit in... I could go on and on. The fans have been collectively dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into indoor training fields, posh athletic training facilities, luxury athlete recreational areas, and now millions to the players in NIL. How about paying some consideration to the source of football funding (the fans) for a change? The money we provide should already be sufficient to hire a good AD, coach, and players. It's all been mismanaged. We've waited our turn and supported our team. We deserve a modern upkept stadium.
We deserve to have funds put toward upgrading stadium areas and amenities. The butchery that Stricklin has proposed will turn it into an FSU style erector set. No thanks.
