I have the ESPN app on my TV. This has never happened before, but when I try to rewatch a match, I get, cannot connect to the server. All other On Demand play normally. Anybody else?
Only volleyball or anything on the espn app? If it’s espn app only, you can try logging all the way out and all the way back in. Log out of your service provider login and your espn+ login if you have both. Do you use an external device or have the app downloaded directly to the tv and use the internal “smart” features? If you’re not using an external device, try using something else and see if you have the same issue. A phone, tablet, computer, other tv, try anything else. If the issue seems to only happen on that one tv and logging out and back in doesn’t cure it, try using an external device. Firestick, roku, etc. i’ve had lots of issues with the “smart” features on just about every brand of tv. My roku’s work like champs though. I have them on all my “smart” tv’s and I almost always have one with me when I travel. I prefer the “box” type devices to the “stick” type devices if you decide to try that route.
I have Roku boxes & YouTubeTV and put everything in my YTTV cloud library so I can watch at my leisure without commercials.
Just some thoughts after the FSU match. Gabby Essix was a BEAST and I love Alec Rothe, who is hitting .416 on the year. It was great to get Kennedy Martin back on the floor. She is, obviously, the best player on our team but showed a little rust against the Noles. What a player, though. Taylor Parks is really good for a freshman, much better than the fill-in we had for Stuckey last year. She's going to be great for us down the road. Isobel Martin was a solid addition as well. A.C. Fitzpatrick is off to a little bit of a slow start, hitting only .226 for the year with twice as many service errors as aces. Maybe she was putting too much pressure on herself with K. Martin out. Trinity Adams playing a lot less than last year. We got blocked too much by FSU and hardly blocked them at all. They are really good and have three super players of their own, so getting a win against them was big. I understand the need for serving aggressively, but you just can't give away as many free points as we do on the serve and expect to win a lot of matches against Top 10 teams. And there are times in a match, like after a timeout by the other team, when they just need to make sure to get the serve in and make them earn the point. Oh well, my observations for what they're worth. Exciting stuff and really looking forward to Stuckey getting back and Kennedy and Essix continuing to work their way into the full flow of the offense. Goooo Gators!
i think you were a little to rough on kennedy muff.got better as the year went on, who else would you have in that role last year?
There was no one else last year. And she did improve as the season went on. But I'd take Taylor Parks every day, every game.
You could tell she was still the tentative early, she wasn’t leaving her feet on her sets. It was the twelfth gator point where she actually jumped on her set. She played much more free from there. So happy for her, she was in tears after the match,
Great to have Stuckey return. But in all the emotion, take time to recognize the contribution of Taylor Parks. Well done!
I'm sure she is on a jump count and told to limit. For those who weren't there, it was such a special moment, let me provide some color commentary. First of all, she dressed for the game, which was a first, but didn't mean she was going to play. Still the possibility was there. During the second set, knowledgeable fans started to buzz as Stuckey did some brief running in the "tunnel" at the corner of the O'Dome, from the court to the bowels of the building and back a few times. At that point fans started figuring that something was up. When she came in, there was an immediate ovation which then went over-the-top when her face was on the scoreboard and everyone knew what was happening. A packed student section really made some noise. It was quite emotional. I watched her go down on September 17, 2023. It is one of my most awful volleyball memories, perhaps because my seat is very close to where she collapsed and I could see her face clearly. To see her come back tonight was magical. Perhaps I'm biased, but I thought her set timing and location was crisp and like she never left. A tip of the hat to Taylor Parks, but Stucky is BACK! After the match, each and every teammate came to her and hugged at center court. The support and obvious love was overwhelming. Go Gators!!!
