I feel like I’ve experienced this a few times.

 

I mean who better to deal with setting up a "front office GM, managing a salary cap, navigating the free agent portal, and has the acumen, hardware( SB trophy) and big name to attract players. Not to mention he was always good at hiring assistant coaches.

 

UF needs a coach that walks into the UAA’s office. Pees all over the desks and tells everyone it’s his house now and everyone will do what he says.

Is that Lane?

What an absolutely horrible hire that would be.

Seriously, why not Bruce Arians? he has a better resume and no email problem.

 

Can we get this place is weird added to the yes thread? Asking for a friend.

 

I hate to say it but the name coach who is available and would jump at this job is Jimbo Fisher. He can recruit, he won a natty at F$U, would drive the noles batshit crazy for just accepting the job, could be hired with a reasonably low salary (thank you A$M), and would be near to a major research medical center in case his son needed treatment.

we are not going to get Kiffin, Urban, Saban or Stoops. Spurrier is too old to be involved in a meaningful way. All other names being floated turn me off more than Jimbo.

The key will be to get someone who can attract HS players and portal players and we must be able to pay nil $ to get great players.

 

I'm still a bit leery of LK and his baggage, but I've reached the never say never point with Lane- if that should become a real possibility. Gruden, on the other hand is a hard pass - forever.

Absolutely not! I lived in Tally while that guy was coach. He’s an absolute scumbag.

 

Supposedly Lane has matured. So no, there likely won’t be an Animal House scene in said office complex.

 

I just mean someone with the balls to run the joint and put the UAA in their place. Can Lane do that?

BTW, if we're getting this thread past 136 with a great coach search, we're going to have to get Ice Queen active on the board again.
