The timing of each catastrophic event the past 15 years has just been perfectly terrible for the Gator program. It's just uncanny at this point. From Cam Newton's defection, to Dunlap's DUI before the SEC title game giving rise to Bama and robbing florida of a back to back SEC and national title, to muschamp taking our offense back decades while we had championship level defenses squandered and allowed fsu to rise up, will Grier sucking any momentum out of a resurgence, to Grantham doing the exact opposite of what muschamps program did with offense/defense etc. We would have made the playoff in each of Mullen's first 3 years under the current format and yet now this new format makes firing Napier in his 3rd year exponentially more difficult due to timing, recruiting and the portal. This program has taken body blow after body blow since Urban Meyer's collapse. Some want to blame Gator fans for expectations but there aren't too many programs that can parallel this fall from a once proud state. Maybe Tennessee...
He doesn’t want anyone to see his trick plays and tip the other team. Nobody will expect the OL turnstile, triple reverse, screen pass, post route.
Starting to feel familiar... Especially with Lane on the radar... Hoping our next hire isn't wearing orange polyester slacks.
It's a lot of money but we have no leverage. If we pay a coach north of $10 million, where do we go from there if it doesn't work out? At that point, we would have no leverage, again. I tend to agree with the thread started that Kiffen will not come here. I expect them to make the playoff so if he did want to come it would likely be end of season. If we keep losing but Napier isn't fired, it seems to mean there's a plan in place. I can only imagine the speculation we will engage in between now and end of season. It's going to be a wild one. At least we are in the spotlight.
If you've got any examples of BN's coaching improving the team's on-field performance, W-L record, or any individual player's year-to-year performance: please share.

Especially points 2 & 4.. I didn't realize they could transfer as soon as the head coach is terminated. It could conceivably be an issue where we're playing mostly walk-ons or something like that. The good news is that even though they discuss back channels, I'm sure we have our own back channels as well for assessing interest in the vacancy. But now I wonder if the powers that be will wait for a few more games so that the season and roster don't get completely destroyed.
We don't know when, but someday when the Gators are a force again we will be appreciative and look back on this period of time and be thankful that it did not last forever. The Gators will be back. The victories and any hardware we win will be all the sweeter. Admin: now get out there and make it so, comma, dammit.
