Oh yeah, that 2020 ticket with the VP who pledged free cheesy bread, Waffle Houses on every corner, and research on time travel. In order to kill Woodrow Wilson.

No doubt the Kamala Harris ticket would seem unacceptable in comparison.

Indeed. The higher information voters are ones yelling about Haitians eating cats and dogs, stolen elections, and Tom Hanks and Hillary Clinton and a secret pedophile cabal cutting off faces and sucking their blood.

It's not just POTUS and VPOTUS. It's the entire administration. Biden has been relatively free of turnover and has a competent cabinet. Compare that to Trump! Revolving door, criminal charges, and 95% of former officials claiming Trump to be unfit.

As for inflation, it hit worldwide post pandemic. But the US fared better than other G7 countries. And currently; inflation is 2.5%, and wage growth is outpacing inflation.

A second Trump administration would be an inflation disaster. The first one already saw a 36% increase in average yearly inflation over Obama. Obama saw 1.4% average yearly inflation, and Trump 1.9%. And remember, Trump’s last year saw a major dip in demand for things like gas that kept prices low.

A 2nd Trump admin would be without the adults in the room who now see Trump as unfit. And instead of targeted tariffs, Trump will put tariffs on all products. And instead of just limiting legal immigration, which lead to post pandemic labor shortages causing inflation, Trump promises mass deportation, which would cause larger labor shortages.

Harris may not give the best interviews. But she's better than Trump in every way. And then some.

You are right....but at this time I feel Democrats are a bigger danger to our country's well- being than Republicans. It was a poke in the eye of certain posters on this forum who constantly denigrate the intelligence of Republicans and use MAGA as a perjorative

Times are tough out there, eh. Your patients can’t afford to eat or obtain medicine.

So then it must really bother you when republicans give families making >$100,000 huge school vouchers, but then vote against things like expanded Medicaid or anti-hunger programs like year round school lunch (programs which cost a relative pittance).

I happen to agree with you just said....what's the purpose of the sarcasm? The truth of the matter is that times are tough for out there for many....is that not true....eh?

You are welcome to your political opinions but you are trolling when you say “Democrats are low information voters”. Say whatever you want about Republicans but it is clear that a majority of them like Trump over the available Republican alternatives and Trump spews constant lies, conspiracies and total nonsense. I still struggle how any self respecting American can buy much of this nonsense but many of them do.

I don’t know the exact definition of “low information” but many MAGA types have lots of information. The problem is much of it is complete nonsense.

Call it trolling if you may....it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek and a poke in the eye of certain posters...I guess it would be better to ignore the "nonsense" and just believe the infallible left-wing narrative?

While I am not sure exactly what the “infallible left wing narrative” is exactly - why does one have to believe nonsense on one side or other? Yes there is left wing nonsense, but it is a vocal minority of the left, and while potentially harmful it isn’t the existential threat that right wing nonsense is.

That Trump response would be akin to something like this: Questioner “Mrs. Harris what do you plan to do about food insecurity in this country?”Kamala: “it is my intention that every family dine on filet mignon nightly”.

I guess what that poster is saying is he wants to be lied to. Because that’s all Trump is doing there, telling supporters what they want to hear. Well, that or basically admitting he’s a communist who wants govt to control markets. Half priced gas and interest rates for all the people! And a filet in every pot!

There probably isn’t a politician in the world that doesn’t lie, but we’ve never seen a firehose of bullshit like Trump. Guy makes Bagdad Bob blush. What is the left wing “narrative” that compares to Trumps demagoguery? I guess it’s not dangerous to try to steal elections, but it *is* dangerous to call that out?

As far as more “normal” policy talk. Let’s look at Trumps nonsensical “promise” to lower energy prices 50% in order to bring down food prices. One might notice he doesn’t say how that gets accomplished. Considering Trumps plan is to “close all traffic on the borders” and deport millions of immigrants (I.e the agricultural labor force) his stated policies would be catastrophic for the economy - particularly farmers and people hit by higher grocery prices. Those are policies that if carried out actually would create food shortages and potential hyperinflation in food (and no, that 8% we saw in ‘22 wasn’t hyperinflation). But hey, crashing the economy might actually lower energy prices, so maybe there’s a half truth after all!

Gee on such a sensitive foreign policy topic, I can't imagine why a sitting VP might not want to say publicly what she would do differently than the president she works for possibly undermining current US policy.

Especially when the opposition foreign policy is "whatever Putin wants."

I dont really understand, this is an issue where both candidates are indistinguishable. Donald Trump wont change US policy WRT Gaza either, America is gonna support the slaughter of Palestinians by Israel with US arms.

This is the best answer yet. Basically, you (and many of us) look at politics like a sporting event. There’s your team and the rival, and we root like hell for our rival to be destroyed. Honestly, it’s the only “answer” that makes sense to me as to why someone would vote for Trump vie en everything we now know.
