I work at UT and am involved in a lot of their sports program. Right now UT is most definitely on Rocky Top with fan enthusiasm. Football, basketball, baseball and softball are rolling. They just sold out the stadium vs Kent State. These fan will gladly pay the extra to continue to field a winner.
Yikes. I understand why they might feel the need to raise prices on tickets - maybe even a lot. But I wouldn't add a line item called "talent fee". It's just going to piss off a lot of people who are already unhappy with the changes in the college football landscape of the last few years. Just roll the fee in with whatever price increase you want to charge and don't draw attention to it.
You mean like a "convenience fee" commonly used on credit card purchases? Agree, just put in in the price and stop with the itemization. It's a 10% "talent fee" on top of a 4.5% increase of football ticket prices, so more like a 15% total increase.
Calling it a fee is dumb. Just jack the price-up... no need to label it something, unless you think it's cool to label a price hike.
Do they get a refund if the talent does not produce? I have a job with performance based metrics, if these kids are going to be paid, then the same should apply.
this is news today how about giving the Florida gators and the university a chance to respond or react geez
I thought I heard something had changed and schools were going to be able to be directly involved with NIL... but maybe I made that up
