They can get upset all they want, but he's RIGHT. Good on DeSantis for detailing the why, because the state doesn't want to be seen as interfering with a federal investigation. Let them both investigate. This is getting out of hand. Two attempts in a ten week period. Enough is enough.

lol, he’s such a grandstanding moron and you’re eating it up. The state should be conducting its own investigation when there are potentially state crimes involved - that is SOP. Usually the FBI and state/local officials will combine resources to conduct a more thorough investigation and not waste resources doubling efforts. At the end of the day, at the State/local and Federal levels they each will have to decide whether to prosecute those crimes. Personally, I’ve seen the Feds just hand the entire case off to the state at a point when they’ve determined there is a substantial overlap in charges. I doubt that will happen here considering how high profile this is and there are likely some upcoming federal charges that are of a different nature than the prospective state charges.

In my experience the FBI is far more adept than state agencies. The most recent instance I’ve dealt with the FBI handed it off to the state and then the state went back to the FBI for its expertise for significant portions of the case. Regardless, DeSantis’s statement changed nothing. The state was going to investigate either way.
