That is the issue with Billy. If he had kept Mertz in multiple series with Mertz performing similarly to the UM game, then yes, the fans would be upset if DJ didn’t get a shot. But neither QB had looked particularly good, but once one of the QBs starts to heat up, he switches out that QB for the other because of fairness? No wonder we are in the situation we are in. It seems on the field performance doesn’t mean much as you will play the snaps you are scheduled to play no matter how you perform.

Look no further than the OL mess. Our best OL don’t play together for an entire game, but are rotated in and out based on a schedule. What other team does that? You play your best 5 OL and keep them out there until the game isn’t in doubt, and then you try new OL groups. Rotating players with no concern for how they are performing is what got us into the mess we are in now. Players rotate in and out because it is scheduled, not due to performance, players loaf and aren’t punished, players commit stupid penalties and aren’t punished.

You either have the " it" factor and a feel for the game as it is happening or your don't ( eg. SOS with the "it" factor", BN without it. )

Crazy as good as Urban was (27 wins with 5 losses)...Spurrier had 41 more wins than him with the same amount of losses...68-5. Of course Napier has 5 losses in a row....

It may be the single most damnable failure that nobody fears the Swamp anymore.

They will, before long. He’s working his way up and has been successful a 2 stops now. The next one will probably be a mid-level P4 program. South Carolina should’ve hired him during their last cycle. He was sitting right next door and would’ve been a great fit, imho. They thought he was too small potatoes, so they hired young Beamer instead, with no HC experience. Now that Chadwell has moved up to Liberty and done very well there, his phone will be ringing. He’s a good HC.

fwiw, UF is probably too big of a jump right now, we could do far worse though, with many of the guys being mentioned. I’m not advocating for him here though.

He may be a great choice but our past hires will make them go after someone like Kiffen that has coached a larger program. There’s just no way to know which is the better choice . I’m so glad its not my responsibility.

I thought you said the next step would be a mid-level P4 program?:p

I am actually surprised that Napier won that many games at home. Seems worse.

85% percent of remaining contract, so we could save 15% on whatever he makes from when he should have been fired (Saturday) and whenever he is actually fired. Add that as #6 of why he should be gone to my other reply to you.

How do you add 10% to all seats and only expect a 4.5% increase per seat? Are those two separate price hikes?
