Cue the "That's not how we do things here" crowd. Well then it's time to start, dammit! The only thing that bothers me about Kiffin at this point is he never beat Saban and has never yet beaten Smart. Can he do that here?

I need someone that gives me hope so I can start posting more regularly. I have had nothing to sunshine pump in a while that wouldn't make me look like a damn fool for doing so. Sucks to not even make it to September and know your season is over.

Our 2nd possession on saturday, at the rain delay is when it was obvious we had no chance to win or even compete in the game and we were outmatched.
Napier down 10-0, brings in lagway, and runs montrell on first down and we lose 2 yards.
then after a weather delay, where napier watches film - lagway gets sacked. he's got an hour to call one go to play, sneak a tight end out, throw a quick hitter/slant to a WR, nope -- drop back and take a sack -- game over

IMO, changes to be made will occur in a way that is best for the short and long term health of our program. Whether it happens next week or the end of the year it's irrelevant to me. Maybe they let CBN know, come up with a timeframe, and let him smooth it over rather than just cutting ties.

I cannot in good faith start another thread on the warning signs that NOT ONE PUBLICATION listed before now or at least recently. But this goes in chronological order, month by month, about the warning signs that we all missed. I'll just post one of ten months from this article.

I, like many of us, had no idea about this type of feckless defensive mindset and coaching disaster from Armstrong's mentor, Roberts. He actually never came up with a blitz package in the Miami game, and their QB had ALL DAY LONG TO PASS THE BALL.

The one thing we need above all else in a DC next time around is one that understands that if you give a QB all day long to pass the ball, YOU WILL LOSE THAT GAME BY A LOT OF POINTS.

    May:
Ron Roberts was sold to fans as a grizzled veteran who was going to upgrade Florida's defense. We noted that he was far from a home run hire.

"One could argue the Missouri moment is on the players, and linebacker Mannie Nunnery stopped about seven yards short of where he needed to be. But we have argued here at Hail Florida Hail that it seemed like a poor choice to have your backup linebacker drop 20 yards into coverage, where he would be matched up with one of the top wide receivers in the SEC. In addition, Jordan Castell was 30 yards off the ball and was no help. If we had to guess, he was told not to allow anyone behind him, no matter what.

Napier would say he addressed this by hiring Ron Roberts to work alongside Austin Armstrong. But this is the same Ron Roberts who gave up 4th and 31 to Alabama after he opted only to rush three and drop eight, giving Jalen Milroe six seconds with zero pressure in his face to pick out an open receiver in the endzone."

Notably one of the flaws on Florida's defense continues to be the play of the safeties, who continue to be unwilling to come downhill to make plays and just allow receivers to catch everything in front of them.

Ten offseason warning signs Florida Football was always going to be terrible in 2024

It takes a special kind of gift to have team play this bad with relatively solid QB play.

I saw somewhere that Ward was known to do well against the blitz and did worse against more guys dropping into coverage. Also, we blitzed TAMU plenty and look how that went for us.

Absolutely brutal. “ Ron Roberts is a culture vulture, he destroys culture “. Talks about bad decisions upon bad decisions by BN.

i don't get the dude was cooked after the miami debacle.
get him away from this team --- away far away. He's like a 9 year old making excuses for everything and is the most incompetent coach this school has ever had.
i'm not sure he has ever made a good coaching decision in his life at UF.

    end the madness

It is likely Napier planned/scripted that drive and play call. And knowing Napier, no matter what the situation, what was happening, no matter what could have changed in that hour, he stood to his original plan and didn’t even consider doing something else other than his original script.
