So, having said that, do you think he was dangerous?

Well, given that he apparently tried to shoot someone, pretty clearly so. But there’s a number of felonies on that criminal record list, so assuming he was actually convicted of any of them (and hadn’t had his firearms rights restored), he should have been a prohibited person under federal firearms laws.

So based upon Ben’s info and explanations, the explosive device possessed by Thomas Crooks could be defined as a WMD by some entities.

After the first assassination attempt Trump's Secret Service protection was increased and it was always up to the level of other former presidents.

That Second Amendment right seems to be the latest Piñata being hit by these judges as to whether a person is in fact a violent felon, where no Second Amendment rights should be restored or not. My point is that he is dangerous, and the tweet we originally began this dialogue was more about whether he had WMDs or not... I simply posted the tween looking for a response. Thank you for expressing your opinion of it.

Yes he was a whack job although his real motivation was the invasion of Ukraine (see his history including a failed attempt to volunteer to fight the Russians in Ukraine) and the support of the Russian leader responsible for the invasion by the defeated former president. There is absolutely no indication that he was a lefty and he voted for the former president in 2016.
Suspected Gunman Said He Was Willing to Fight and Die in Ukraine

Does this sound like a "lib"?

He was reported to have been arrested in 2003~ in North Carolina and a fully automatic machine gun was found in his possession at that time.

Yes, so that justifies taking out one of our former presidents in your mind. Sick...

If that’s true, I’m a little surprised he doesn’t have a federal conviction as well (or maybe he does and they haven’t reported it yet).

Because, at least until the recent proliferation of illegally imported “Glock switches” being used in street/gang crime, ATF has always had a real thing for prosecuting illegal machine gun cases.

Totally unrelated, but whatever helps you sleep at night. I mean, to be a MAGA Moron, you have to tell yourself lots of little fables, so I get it. When the moment comes, be Alexander!

Although this was obviously a false flag, the real question is why are right wingers so violent?

Of course, owning semi-autos, rifles and such does not make a person violent. But obviously this dude has a penchant for violence. The big thing is his desperation to make a name for himself with his support of the Ukrainian War. To the extent he was criticizing Ukrainian officials for not accepting his mercenary recruits.

I don’t think it was a false flag. I think he is a nut job (as documented by his lengthy criminal past, Covid conspiracies, and weird involvement in Ukraine), and a far right never-Trumper that resorted to violence instead of voting.

Heard it mentioned on TV it was for a truly automatic weapon - that i surmise is included within NC’s definition of WMD

Never said that the guy as a "far righties" just that he wasn't a lib. There is a difference. More like the guy was a supporter of the former president who evolved into a "never Trumper".

And seems pretty clear that he was, in fact, a prohibited person given that the federal charges he was arraigned on this morning are felon in possession, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

I’d put him in the far right (as in extreme). The most anti-Joe Biden folks within the Democrat party were Bernie/Warren supporters who are far left. Some of the most vitriolic attackers come from within the parties.
