I hate to agree with Skink but he is right. The "I told you so" or I knew year one, year two or year three when Napier was a liability is irrelevant now. Can we just focus on correcting the problem and argue on who are next coach and AD will be.

 

That's odd to say, being that he is on a weekly talk show and does multiple podcast with Pat Dooley and others. He is also a guest on national talk shows during the year. He is still the ambassador with a office in the athletic department. I think they are probably interested in his opinions and has never been shy about giving it.

 

Not if they said this was simply UF posturing publicly in support of their coach as to support their enormous financial stake in the same. If they can supply some internal documents with university officials discussing the liability of UF and any actual Napier defaults in how the NIL issue was handled...... You're just assuming Napier's hands are clean because UF is supporting him with council? That's what you do.... for a CURRENT coach and you stop offering council the moment he's fired and let him defend the Rashada lawsuit on his own. Unless he settles with UF, in which case we continue to defend and insulate him from any actions he may have been involved while coach. Why is this sort of aggressive legal position illogical?

 

Not really sure what more you want man. Everybody who hated the hire and/or have been on Napier’s ass from the beginning have been proven correct. Those of us who zealously defended Napier have been proven wrong. I readily admit it. If you’re looking for an apology you’re gonna be disappointed.

If he wants to be part of the conversation, you allow it. He’s never been tasked with hiring a head coach at this level though, and some of the guys he’s backed have been questionable at best. Definitely not someone you should be seeking out to lead this decision. His job at UF is to play golf and raise money, let him do that. I agree with the “leave the guy alone” sentiment.

 

Not me. I haven't posted in quite some time until pretty recently. But there may not be a snarky gif for that, so that might mess with your typical method of replying.

Either way, I haven't called anyone out, just suggested we put a pin in critiquing or dismissing one another while we're actually enjoying some rare unanimity. But to each his own.

That’s it right there. I don’t know any other way to support my team. And I’ve been on the wrong end of it before too. I hated the fireronzook.com website. But in the end, those guys were proven right. It’s like Deja vu all over again

 

Or we could just be cool with each other for awhile and not assume the worst.

 

The issue right now is who is going to make the hire. I have no faith in anybody making decisions right now.

 

I think it stems from when the pumpers always poop on anyone who is giving an alternative view and they are scolded and told they are pessimistic and not a gator fan. Now on the other side I think those who saw reality earlier on should offer support and hugs to those who finally took off the o&b glasses. Maybe going forward both camps can just see each other’s points of views as a different perspective and that in the end we’re all gator fans. I can hope.

The folks that started whining on day one or year one will be right back at it no matter who is hired next time. Same folks bitched during Meyer and Spurrier eras. Their comments over the last few years haven’t put them any closer to the rooms where these decisions will be made. They’re still just nobodies like me and you. Rather than saying they’re proven right or wrong, I’ll take a line from the Dude- “you’re not wrong, you’re just an asshole”.

Works both ways. The ones who are always presenting their negative views spew the same hatred towards anyone who is still trying to see the best and present a positive view. You get what you give.
