In real life many discussed Napier’s shortcomings. Argued about firing him.

It’s another thing to go to a site and write what you say/think.

Another failed attempt at humor. Of course I’m one of the fans you’re referring to. My concern in the past was the incessant running down of the team and Napier within weeks of opening day. Seemed so self-destructive. In fact it is.
But this last game was clearly a giant reset. It’s highly unlikely that anyone here supports BN now. So as stated in the OGT, y’all were right and I was wrong. Giving up on Napier early proved to be the correct position to take. So congratulations on being right.

Lol... I've been on this board for years... I know what I've seen him post about Meyer.. I'm just not making this up.. I didn't just start posting today.. and I know Tilly has seen him hating on Meyer over the years... but we can agree to disagree like the moderator said..

 

Well at the time it seemed funny that 18+ hours of discussion have been grounded in the mutual certainty that this was Billy’s last game - then in comes a post declaring that Billy needs to go.

I guess I was naive in believing we would be better this season, because of the schedule I did expect us to lose multiple games but I really believed the team was going to be better and BN had us on the right track, then Miami and TAM happened! We were manhandled and looked lost all over the field except on special teams, I think BN is a good man but it has become apparent he is in way over his head! I don't know what the answer is but surely he has to go and SS should fall on his sword, I don't want him anywhere near another hire!

 

If they wanted to do that, it should have been done when the lawsuit was filed. They chose to back him and provide council. The next opportunity to fire him for cause with that at the reason would be further down the line and be dependent on some new info being presented or possibly him outright losing the case. IOW, that ship has sailed.

 

Still would love to have his input and him be a "yea" in a panel of experts to hire our next coach. Kind of hard to blame Zook on Spurrier as he probably would have been supportive of whomever his successor. Muschamp I think was a good gamble for us and a very good hire for South Carolina. I so wish Muschamp could have found the right offensive recipe (some would say just "stay out of it") here at Florida. I'd love to watch a Muschamp coached UF defense right now. Would be better than nothing on both sides!

You were doing fine with your mea culpa till this. Seems like a self serving comment at best.

I know several people that never liked the hire (including me), rarely post on message boards, but love the Gators, supported the coach and rooted for wins. Nobody is now truly happy about being right. Nobody, unless you're a rival fan.

 

I don’t think you should ever be ashamed of trying your best to support the program and it’s coach. You don’t hire or fire him. It’s not your responsibility to make the call on when or if either of those things should happen. He’s our guy until he’s not. The negativity is not going to help anyone succeed here. It only makes the job harder. Nobody here has all the answers, even though quite a few think they do.
