Muschamp: He's such a nice guy, he won 11 games and went to the Sugar bowl, it's all the injuries.
McElwain: He won the east twice, he had half the team suspended, not his fault.
Mullen: He went to three big bowl games, had a fantastic Offense.
    Napier: *crickets*

Our 2009 team also didn't have any Zook recruits, and they went 13-1. By the time 2015 came around, all of Tressell's players were long gone, and he kept winning big. It wasn't a Larry Coker thing where his team deteriorated after Butch Davis' players left. You are also right that he won with a variety of OCs and DCs.

I was half listening to Steve Russell post game last night and I think he said this would be the fastest firing of a football coach in the history of Florida football. Not in a bad way, just noteworthy. Also noteworthy that the fanbase and boosters are solidly united, IMO.

Yeah, but I really hope Steve Spurrier is part of the coaching search and is offered final approval of the hire based on what the candidate has put on the field the past 2-3 years. Spurrier makes comments all the time on podcasts that have me realize he watches a lot of college football and is quite familiar with the top coaches and what they are doing to differentiate themselves. I really don't feel Spurrier would have ever "signed off" on a Napier hire based on offensive play calling and knowing that would be our offense here.

Simply because there is nothing else to be done. The evidence is overwhelmingly overwhelming. Napier burned through all the goodwill last season. He gaslighted us all spring and summer. And come gametime he puts forth the worst product yet.

    We fired Zook for less.
    We fired Muschamp for less.
    We fired McElwain for less.
    We fired Mullen for less.

There is simply nothing left to do but fire Billy.

After 1st and 35 allowing them to overcome it made it really difficult to keep watching but watching him smiling on the sideline after the defensive holding made it worse.

I guess this is a joke to him?
    What the hell?

What is worse is getting rid of him and then hoping we can rebuild in the next 5 years.
This is getting old, I feel we are the laughing stock of the SEC now.

If we showed some fight, some discipline it wouldn't be so bad but that just isn't the case.
    We are undisciplined and inept.

I just about have lost my desire to even watch at this point.
Never thought I would ever say that!

People constantly trying to inject Spurrier into everything. Leave him alone! He's old and retired and doesn't want to be in your fanfic. Come out of 1996 and into the present with the rest of us already.

    That's the real problem.

I start with coaches who have won or coached for the NC. Unless you want Ed O there really aren't any. Urban ain't coming, or stoops, or any retired coaches. We can ask though. Who else? Day or Dykes?

Is rather do an established HC rather than an assistant.

Then it goes down to Sec winners or coaches that played for the championship. Malzahn or Drink? Actually it was Pinkell for Mizzou.

And here we are ... Up and coming Sec coaches, other HC from other conferences or top end assistants.

Assistants and HC for non traditional powers will take the job.

Up and coming Sec Head oaches though are all maybe or no. Drink? Lane? I can't think of another that isn't at a place that's equal to Florida.

Finally, Florida is an offense place.

So, this is why Lane is so attractive.

If you had asked if Skink and others have criticized and questioned UM's conduct and the state in which he left the UF program - and came away leery of UM as a viable candidate, the answer would probably be a resounding yes. But you didn't. You choose to go with accusing him and others of "hating" or seeking to "discredit" a man who has left behind a bad odor after his departure on more than one occasion. A passion for winning is admirable in anyone, particularly a CFB HC. Insulting a widely respected poster who has contributed more to this board than most of us ever will is not admirable in the least.

Even if it is a fake X Account, Dan Mullen's real X account liked it.

A note from previous coach searches, the players start following the next coach before we truly know. Page 136, here we come!

Does he not have an office at the University of Florida? The man has an official position with UF by choice. Maybe you shouldn't put him in the grave yet! The man has a valuable opinion and if he's still in an official position with UF spending time on campus, why would you ignore him because he's old?! He has a VALUABLE expert opinion and I don't agree with you that he's 1996 at all. He's someone that if his body allowed could probably still coach effectively today.

Odd post. What championships does your guy Fisch have?

At least Riley has several conference championships on his resume. (Not that he is an option at this point)
