You have to have a handful of difference making elite players. Players that the other team has two game plan around. We don’t have any of that.

Good grief. Not that I want it to happen, but DJ in a Mullen offense would be fun to watch.

 

I don't think we're in a position to have our cake and eat it at the same time. Professional conduct and standards can be something that is part of any contract. If Lane gets caught bangin' college girls or some other shenanigans then he's fired and we owe him very little if anything at that point. We're still no worse off than we are now and perhaps he improved our team in the few years he was able to keep himself out of trouble. As you point out, we are on the verge of irrelevancy, but we are not quite there yet. Which is why we have a UAA that can buy Lane Kiffin. But this hire has to be nails. We can't endure another Billy Napier and another termination in 3 years. It will become the butt of a joke as it already has in some cases. You know Kiffin is going to produce. Put the failsafes in his contract and get 'er done.

 

DJ in an Urban offense would be peak. I doubt it will ever happen, but, we all know Meyer changes his offense to fit his personnel.

I thought Kirby might have ended up in the ER last night! He’s gonna blow a gasket or artery, and he looks out of shape.

 

The catch with Kiffin and a professional conduct clause is that he has to agree to it and for him to do so may raise his asking price/buyout beyond what can be paid. But, at this point, we need someone who the players and fanbase have confidence in that he can turn this train wreck around.
