Thought he was playing terrific including a perfect form tackle while the receiver was in the air. Hope he gets more playing time. Trikweze Bridges - Football - Florida Gators
The inconsistency between referee crews is what is maddening. Bridges tackles a guy in the air where his helmet was at ass level is called targeting but a UGA player speared a UK player helmet to helmet and they wouldn't even review it.
I mentioned his name in 3 different plays before that stupid rule/call came down. The least they can do is quit kicking players out of games for these "penalties" during the game. Helmet to helmet, yes, kick them out, but not helmet to azz...
Defense are not allowed to play anymore. Just look at our game as well. It’s absolutely BS how the refs can control games.
They need to change the rule. I don’t agree with the refs but if you read how the rule is written, you can’t fault them
Rule # 345-B If the player lowers their head before making a tackle and make forcible contact to the buttocks with the crown of helmet, the player will be flagged for targeting Section-B
I always found it odd that targeting was exclusive to the defense. So it's not targeting when a runner lowers his helmet and with his crown forcibly smashes into a defensive player's helmet?
Time for all the Gator 4.0 +++ students to develop a new shock absorber. Gatorade is doing very well. Nice job on that! Now we need Gatortackle. a high density shock resistant bubble wrap to incorporate into head gear.
It was as the right call as he lead with the crown. The call also protects the defenders; is that too difficult to comprehend?
I don’t understand what the student section didn’t litter field with bottles and trash. We would have when I was there.
According to the broadcast the one at FL field was a booth initiated review. Of course we all know that the booth is in Birmingham, AL. I guess we can assume they were all high-fiving each other over ATM pole-axing UF to notice what was going on in the UK-UGa game.
students today are too soft, spending most of their time on their phones anyways...and lets bring back the cup throwing while we're at it...fun times.
If you apply the standard that yesterday's referees set for targeting calls, by the end of the first quarter you wouldn't have any defensive players left to finish the game. And yes it isn't called equally against offensive players that put themselves in danger by lowering their heads prior to contact.
Usually if the offensive player lowers his head resulting in helmet to helmet contact the defender gets penalized anyway. Worst rule in sports.
