Last post was light-hearted joke. We good. I did misunderstand your response to Crusher.

Winner. Just like with Napier, Mullen refused to make changes until too late, and he also kind of phoned it in after the loss to Alabama his last season here.

It seems that each coach we have had after Urban has had a stubborn streak where it was their way or the highway, even when their way wasn’t working. Though to be fair to Mullen, he was willing to change things up on offense to match his personnel. His downfall was his loyalty to coaches and players despite how they performed.

Well hopefully that works out the same way this time because our offense sucks just as bad as our defense. So we should look for a coach that can make both better!

I too knew during year two he was the wrong choice. I had hoped and wanted him to work out, he talked a big game but it became fairly clear to a few of us "trolls" that BN was way over his head. In spite of the barbs thrown our way we didn't budge in our view. Glad others finally came around but the downward trend was pretty obvious.

The only way we get Kiffin probably is to fire Strickland and hire Ole Miss AD first. They clearly have a good relationship and results

No more ADs from the Magnolia state.

Surely there is a top candidate out there to replace Stricklin.

McElwain and Napier were similar in another way. From the beginning I wondered, what exactly did they see when they made the hire. Neither struck me as good fits for the job.

On the other hand, I thought Zook and Mullen were great hires so what do I know.

IMO, Kiffin’s offense would help us recruit more elite high school Florida players, receivers and OL. His offense is more NFL oriented, using the pass to set up the run. That appeals to kids and Kiffin does an excellent job of recruiting players that excel in his offense.

As for his defense, I think it would improve if he was recruiting full time in Florida.

He’s proven he can win in the SEC and a move to Florida would be a step up for him, monetarily and a chance to win BIG.

I think Ole Miss will re-do his contract in the coming months to thwart the threat of him leaving.

Isn’t there some weird law about contracts in Mississippi that effects Ole Miss in their ability to sign a long term contract with Kiffin

I saw it on the wall when we couldn't get any offensive linemen from the portal, except those that were asked to enter the portal from their previous team. When you can't even recruit with NIL, you know something is wrong. You could have Patrick Mahomes but it won't do any good with this offensive line.

He may be in terms of his process or commitment to process, but he's the farthest thing from Saban when it comes to results. Say what you will, but Saban has a personality and fire.

Yeah, but the pressure to fire Mullen was intense. I wasn't on board, but 80% of the fanbase was. FWIW, we lost Mullen the summer before when the "Recruiting Boys" turned on him completely.

Kiffen completely bombed at USC which can literally spawn talent in its back yard. He went to ole miss whose fanbase has low expectations and has been successful. What makes everyone think he will come in and be all world? Especially with the impatience of our fanbase.
