Emmitt is Mr Two Bits today so that tells me he's a Gator. His 3 years at Florida featured a different OC each year. Can you blame him for throwing in the towel when his last year would feature a completely different offense? Back in those days, RBs ran the ball, they didn't catch it much out of the back field. He was 87% of Florida's offense in his last year, and most likely would drop to 10% in his senior year.

I think the University distanced themselves from most of our programs players from around 84-89 ( probation related years).

All you have to do is look at how we’ve not only distanced & failed to embrace our first TRUE SEC Championship Team.

I can’t think of any other Administration in the SEC that has treated a Championship Team with less grace & recognition.

When fans expect a former player to represent UF…… why is there little to no consideration of how the University has treated them.

Look at our weird history of failing to invite players back for games, unlike so many of our rivals.

I’ve long thought we’ve failed miserably in building & maintaining relationships with former players…..

Just thinking out loud, but respectfulness and recognition is a two way street. The University kinda turned their back on those that played in that era, due to their bowing at the altar of appeasing the NCAA.

You don’t have to believe me….just listen to interviews from players of that era.
